Well, that wasn't much feedback for you, I just wanted to write down my thoughts.
Laser beam goes through reflector cube which redirects it to the laser catcher. Activated catcher deactivates emitter. I don't know why, but this makes beam invisible.
And look at the title. Something may be "out of range".
