About
Thebes is an international award winning game by Peter Prinz for 2-4 players. In Thebes you and your fellow players are archaeologists, traveling through Europe and acquiring knowledge about five ancient civilizations - Crete, Greece, Egypt, Palestine and Mesopotamia. Players then utilize this knowledge, gather equipment and enlist the aid of their assistants to excavate historical sites in the regions of these civilizations.

Notes (## IMPORTANT ##)
- (1) Do not click your time wheel! To properly use it, simply rotate it (default keys Q and E) with your rotation degrees set to 15 (top menu bar).
- (2) If you do accidentally click your time wheel and mess it up, you can fix it by unlocking the graphical part and placing it above the numbered part and re-locking it.
- (3) There are some minor visual discrepancies on some components but none interfere with the gameplay whatsoever.
- (4) Don't forget the handy reference sheets on the side of the table!

Cafe Games is the user that commented further down saying they've made some additions

What's cafe games? In any case I do not maintain any of my mods anymore and this one in particular could have been implemented better. I encourage you to take what I did and improve it

is this mod going to get an update with the Cafe Games fixes?

Hi, wanted you know that your mod has been added to my collection: Board Game Geek - BGG - May 2020 - Best Mod for each of the Top 500 Rated Games. Collection here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2086043930

The collection used this priority system:

1. Mod's Files Availability: Mod with all/most files still available for download
2. Feature completeness: Mod with greatest inclusion of expansions and/or promos available for the board game title
2. Scripting: Mod with scripting that most reduces work in setup/play for players
3. Component Quality: Mod with the best visuals/usability in terms of component quality
4. Table Setup/Ambiance: Mod with the best immersion with table, background, and other modeling.

Please also note that a mod that makes selection for this list very well could be one in which the mod author borrowed the majority of assets from another workshop listing, so full thanks to all who worked on a mod.

Thanks for your hard work!

If you'd like to forward me a save I'll take a look and could update this mod with it.

Hey not sure if you'd be interested to see but I've made some useful additions/fixes to my local version of this mod. I fixed up the dials with hinge joins - they kept breaking before. Also got a heap of items locked down. Added useful rotation points and a random zone for the card setup.
Inevitably in my local mod I'm definitely going to add the descriptions to each token, but you mentioned you weren't keen on them yourself, so I haven't done that yet. I hope to help!

You don't think with the text on the pieces that would be convenient? Each piece has a name and a longer description - in the mod you wouldn't get the longer description unless you linger on a specific piece... your call I guess :)

If the sheets with the historical notes aren't already in the mod I would like to include them, if you have scans or they're available somewhere. I am less interested in just adding text to the game's pieces.

I appreciate the randomness in the game :-)
I have never felt the need to reduce the randomness
Different topic ... one of my favourite things in this game is the sheet that explains the actual history of the items you find. I can see how to add those descriptions in. If I were to do that, would there be a way to upload them to you? (Instead of just having them in my version)

I believe I originally had text in the game explaining those but it seems to have been lost at some point. Each of the (unofficial I am pretty sure) 4 red rules is a variant that may be optionally played. There was a lot said about this game's luck when it came out so the rules probably stem from some attempt to spice it up. I will re-add some kind of notification explaining this. Thanks.
