How to change the resolution to 1024 x 768

In fact, the Delta Force supports 1024 x 768 resolution. But the player must set it manually.

Step 1: Open the game configuration file
Use any text editor to open df.cfg in the game's install directory.

Step 2: Find the sector of DISPLAY
Then change the "game_res" to "5".

0 = 320 x 240
1 = 400 x 300
2 = 512 x 382
3 = 640 x 480
4 = 800 x 600
5 = 1024 x 768
No higher resolution available.

One final note
Now you can play the game with 1024 x 768 resolution.


But please remember one thing:

Don't try to change the resolution in game options menu.
Because you will never change it back in the same menu!

Just noticed the crosshairs setting ,

I sometimes use a crosshair app ,
so i might try turning crosshair to 0 rather than 1 ,so I can just use my own crosshair.

Works well in DF1.


I used
game_res = 6 in DF2.
(seems like the newer game allows higher res)

Or you can change
max_res = 4 to max_res = 5
and you will be able to select 1024x768 from the options screen ;)

I re-downloaded this game 4 times and I can't seem to find a cfg file. Is it named something else?

It's actually easier to snipe with a lower resolution, since enemies have larger pixels and blend less into the terrain. It was a huge deal at LAN parties back in the day XD People would play in the lowest possible resolution to have an advantage.
