Introduction
I know a good amount of us out there have been having poblems getting ARK to run properly, heck at times a reinstall just isn't everything. What about a clean install of the game then? Well this seems to work for me so here is how you do that.
The common things to do
The common things to do are quite simple. Here is a list to help out there.

  • Go in to you games library right click on the game.
  • Sekect Delete local content (this is the acutal game uninstall)
  • Next in file explorer go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods
  • Delete all the files there.
  • All the information the saved directory from Content is optional, but should be done for a fully clean install Feel free to back up those files if you want to.
File removal problems (MODS)
Withthe mod directory you might encounter a error where you can't mass delete the mods. In this case You need to remove each mod directory one at a time. Note the ones left are mods that never installed correctly on your computer, and likely the source of your problems. While I have not been able to remove them yet myself. I found that moving them out of the mod directory in to a junk folder on my computer wil allow for a clean working install to be redone of that mod.
Your done
That's it everything you needed to remove for a clean install has been done, so now just reinstall the game and hope it all works. Saddly this will not solve problems like a bad mod creating probles for the game, or such. Howevr if a reinstall is noted as a way to fix it, this guide will help you at least do a fully clean install of the game and mods alike. Feel free to comment below if I missed anything, and thanks for reading and hapoy taming!

@Quiet Thanks, and yea I attempted to use a spell checker twice with the guide. Steam seems to have a dislike for them for some reason. Still trying to get it corrected though.

@Silver, no you have to also unsubscribe from them in steam, do that first then delete the mods folder.

@Kwenzy Sorry about the late reply, but I have tried that myself in the past, it doesn't remove the old files, only removes the games ability for you to use them. The junk files with the bugs are still there.

just a simple, short "unsubscribe from all your workshop mods and remove the mods from the ark folder" would have worked too
