Now, bhopping in CS 1.6, is a bit of a challenge. Bhopping requires mastery aswell as doing perfect hops.

What you need to do:
1. Enter up Console.
2. Type in "bind "mwheeldown" +jump" and "bind "mwheelup" +jump"
3. Enter these following commands (for fps, not really recommended if you don't need it)
"fps_max 500"
"fps_override 1"
"hud_draw 0"
"m_filter 1" (autobhop)
4. Go on any bhopping server or just make a new server and try to bhop.
5. Learn, practice and then master it.

Speedrunning is an insane challenge, not only bhop, but manage to get a good record enough, to get a World Record, now a World Record isn't going to you win you an award, but you will get tons of attention.
Speedrunning doesn't only need bhopping, but it needs patience. Breaking a world record requires lots of practice, patience and mastery. You can go on, on the same map for as long as you can, bhopping maps are a good target, surf... not so much, but you can attempt it.

Surfing speedruns are not totally a map you shouldn't attempt, but you need lots of bhopping in spawn, then surf, gain velocity, then keep that velocity or increase it. Surfing isn't a recommended state nor a thing to attempt for new speedrunners.

First of all, Note, that learning to bhop isn't instantly going to make you a complete pro, No.
It requires tons of practice and learning, if you know these players such as LOLYOU, or others, they bhop like gods, thinking that you can be that, but doesn't really happen, you need months to about years to practice bhoping and making good bhops, doing much better is a good way to say: "You're getting better." Again, learning bhop takes lots of time, and patience, so go ahead and train! :D
