The Happy Wars Amour Buff Guide
By Okami Tomato
After looking on the guides and finding they had a combined total of over 200 views I realised I had to make a part three to this, like I promiced to do.

If we get 500 total views on mah HW buff guides I'll move onto accessories... I'll save helmets (the best) for last :P

Basic Buffs
Defence Up (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 3/5
One of the most simple buffs in the game, Defence up will increase the defence of your chacter by a certain amount, depending on what level and what version of the game you have. Lv. 1 will increase your defence by +80 (+120 on Xbox), Lv. 2 by +120 (+200 on Xbox) and Lv. 3 by +200 (+400 on Xbox). This buff is useful to begin with as it gives your characters a bit more tankiness behind them but these buffs are often replaced later for more useful ones.

Magic Defence Up (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommandation Level: 2/5
Almost identical to it's non-magic counterpart, Magic Defence Up boosts your magic defence by a certain amount depending on what level it is (Stats listed above in Defence Up). However this buff is even more situational than defence up, only being useful against mages and zephyrs but will often not save you from ice/lightning spammers, magic napalm or the dreaded wind trap-wind swap combo.
Other Buffs
Anti-Tactical Power Up (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 2/5
These buffs will reduce the amount of damage you take from cannons, ballistas or their upgraded counterparts the gatling gun and the rocket launcher. However despite these upsides these buffs are not very useful as they are quite situational: only mildly reducing damage from a type of damage you only ever really see outside the enemy castle while taking up a valuble buff slot that could have been used for a more useful buff. Also as cannons still do a lot of damage and have a knockback effect they can still knock you off the map with that and ballistas can be almost nullified by guard-attacking the gate as a warrior while facing the attacking ballista.

Cannon Durability Up (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 2/5
Once again, a very situational buff. This buff will increase the amount of damage your ballista or cannon can take before being destroyed. The main downsides are as follows: getting off the cannon to deal with an attacker will remove the buff from the cannon, making it go back to taking full damage the millisecond you get off of it, which is bad because one of the only ways to stop an attacker would be to get off and defeat him yourself in many circumstances. This alone makes the buff more of a waste than anything.

Mobility Speed Up (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 5/5
One of the best armor buffs avaliable. Each level of this buff allows the user to move slightly faster. A lot of people would look at the slight speed difference and instantly think of it as more of a slot waste, but it really isn't: The extra movement speed is good for offense and defence, allowing you to get to the front lines faster and chase pursuing foes while also being able to retreat quickly yourself and catch anyone trying to sneak past your allies. These facts alone make it a very recommended buff.

Ambush Reliever (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 4/5
Ambush reliever, as the name emplies, will reduce the amount of damage taken when enemies strike you from behind. For the 5 of you who have played HW and didn't know this: attacking from behind does double the damage. Being able to reduce this damage at the cost of a single one of your 3/4 buff slots makes it a good option, but often a lot less useful for ice, lightning and fire mages as they should not usually be out on the front lines alone.

KO Rate Down (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 1/5
This buff is sadly very broken. It's original purpose was to lower the damage taken from KO attacks and also lower the likelihood of you being KOed by them however all it currently affects is the stone throw skill and seems to completely disregard KO weapons, making KO weapons more dangerous and this buff more of a waste than anything (Until the day it gets fixed, that is)

Smash Resistance (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 2/5
Smash attacks, like the well-named warrior skill Smash, will not send you flying as far or for as long. However the reason it isn't a 3 or even a 4 is to the sad truth that it does not affect, in any way, the smash effects of smash weapons, like the titan sword, glacier or dark matter.

Stun Rate Down (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: 4/5
This buff, unlike it's KO brother, actually does it's job right. This buff reduces damage taken from stun attacks while also reducing the chance of you being stunned by them. This buff is very useful in 1v1s, making weapons like the scarlet tooth a lot less effective and a lot less likely to stun trap you.

Anti-Class Aid (Lv. 1)
Recommendation Level: 4/5
These buffs will make the class they are specifically targeted to fight to 1.4x less damage to you. This is great in quick match as anti-warrior/mage aid can make warriors/mages a lot less effective when fighting you, making you a large obstacle in the way of their destructive rampages

Elemental Resistances (Lv. 1, 2, 3)
Recommendation Level: Fire/Wind=4, Lightning/Ice=5
These buffs will reduce the amount of damage taken from the specific element by a certain amount and also reduce the after-effects that some of them have (Like lightning's ability to slow you or ice's ability to completely stop you moving). Fire is the least useful overall, followed by wind while ice and lightning resistance take a joint top spot due to their incredible usefulness.
'+' Buffs
Much like Weapons, armor has a range of buffs that can give the player certian skills from the beginning of the game. However, there are 2 main differences between these ones and their weapon counterparts. Firstly, these buffs are 'Y' skills (or Team Skills, if you prefer) and secondly, they do not have buffs to increase the power of specific Team Skills like weapons have for their skills. In the majority of circumstances these buffs are more of a waste of a slot but there are a few useful ones, like Cheer+ and Sacred Song+

I would swap the 3/5 from fire to 4/5, it's being more useful since almost everyone uses fire enchant.
