So his ulti is all but useless now and this is the simple truth. That said, I've figured out a way to blend all of his skills, including his ulti - but minus his crappy shuris - and still come out with kills, loads of resources, and all kinds of easy-rank ups.

In order for this playstyle to function well and for you to survive well, you're going to have to dump duration and strength mods in exchange for boosting his health and shields.

• Equip a very fast melee weapon - if it's slow, this just won't work well. Once in map, press and hold 'F' to make it your primary - you should channel while doing the things listed below.
  
  
• Stealthed or not, hit '4' and head straight for a mob of enemies. Once you're at the front of a line or the start of a mob, hammer out your combos (increasing your melee slam is good to do as well - this gets you out of trouble easy).
  
  
• Do this until your shields run out, press '4' again, which activates Blade Storm.
  
  
• Start hammering down on '2' because you won't know when your BS will end (and it's currently bugged so it will sometimes stop halfway through and you'll take damage, then it will start back up). But get stealth up as soon as BS is finished - or bullet jump out (put on a knockdown resist in place of strength mods).
  
  
• To cover a large area do 1 of these two things:
  
  • Hit '4', then bullet jump into air, then right-click at peak to glide. While far in the air, look all around you and b4 you hit the ground, hit 4 again to activate BS.
    
  • Press '3' to get you as close to the enemy as possible and do the aforementioned things - or bullet jump and mark all, then proceed to activate.

The unfortunate side to this is that it is NOT, by any stretch of the imagination, a way to teamplay. I've found myself having to ignore those around me in order to survive. But then again, the people that begged for this change weren't too worried about the team in the first place.

Oh well - at least there is some use out of him as a solo-co-op frame still, even if his BS is still pretty useless.
