Avoid the SCAM
First, what is a scam? It´s an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence. So you must be careful with people who message you or make awesome offers to you.

These rules can help you:
  • CHECK STEAM PROFILE:

This is very important, when someone add you, first you need to do is check his Steam Profile following next steps:
    • Make sure the profile is not private or has private inventory.
    • Check total hours played to ensure this account is not a trade/scam/bot account.
    • Check hours played at the game you want to trade to ensure he´s not a trader.
    • Check bio and info looking for pay methods like: I buy items by Paypal, SteamWallet Codes and trade skins.
    • Don´t trust his Steam Level, normally scammers have under level 10 accounts, but the best scammers have 30-100 level account to make them reputable.
    • Check friendlist and community activity: If he has not friends or community activity like Screenshoots, Guides or Wishlist you must suspicious.
    • If the suspect has VAC ban, better not trade with him. Also check SteamRep to pick some info and look he has ban on this page.

Once checked all if you need more info, you must have 2 extensions for all explorers*:
    EnhancedSteam (Chrome,Firefox,Opera,Edge)[www.enhancedsteam.com]
Here you can see an advanced hud that gives you extra info about the profile
    Steam Inventory Helper[chrome.google.com]
This extension helps you with Steam Market, Trades and manage offers price

  • NEVER TRUST ADMIN PAGES:
Some people will try to scam you offering a partnership with him saying:

"I´m <some bet site> admin and i give <any ♥♥♥♥ he can offer you like coins for page or winning results>"

This always be fake because admins and owners always contact people who can give good advertise by mail or bussiness via.

  • ALWAYS CHECK LINKS:

Some scams starts when they send you a "fake steam link" (look like steamcomnunity, steamcomuniity or staemcommunity) or a strange web page, Steam always will warn you "You are leaving Steam" with the URL that you clicked. Most of these fake links are made to download and install malicious softwares to take control of your PC, also have an antivirus software (Windows Defender or another similar) to check your computer.

  • BE REALISTIC, DON´T BE FOOLED BY APPEARANCES:

People never will offer you more money or better items for yours, you must ask them for a clear reason to know if it is true. Ask to a friend who knows about market and trades. In case of rare items like blue-gems, you go with your own risk but you can check some guides to help, info is your best allied to trade.

  • NEVER MAKE A 2-STEPS TRADE (Trade with middleman):

One of the most common scam is a "third friend that makes the trade and complete it". If you´re gonna trade you do with that guy, never make a 2-steps trade or wait for another person to finish it.

  • DON´T LEND YOUR ITEMS:

This is so obvious but some people do it and lose skins/items. Only don´t pay attention to them.

  • PAYPAL SCAM(Refunded transaction):

If someone buys your item with some overpay by PayPal, IS A SCAM. He can refund the payment and you lose your items. Only make this type of trades if you know the buyer or if some friend has traded with him. There are a lot of good PayPal sellers and buyers, but this method has been transformed on the most common way to scam.

*SteamInventoryHelper is only available on Chrome.
IF YOU WANT TO SELL ITEMS FOR MONEY SAFELY:

OPSkins[opskins.com]: It´s a cheap market where people can sell items and withdraw earned money. You can make real money trades with it, selling the item on OPskins and the interested buys it (you lose few money for paypal transactions but it´s the safest way)

You can also trade with PayPal, but this is a scam method and you must be secure the trade can´t be refunded.

When you get scammed
Well this is the awful part of this guide, when you get scammed. Here are some tips to report the scammer to SteamSupport/Community. ALWAYS you will need some proofs of the scam and NEVER beg items to people because it will make they can be against you.

  • Get screenshots of conversation or copy-paste it in a notepad.

  • Get a screenshot of the trade.

  • Get the steamID via this web STEAMID I/O[steamid.io] or using extension Enhanced Steam[www.enhancedsteam.com] checking the profile.

  • If you had a CS:GO item and it has been scammed, you can proof it was yours doing this:
Go to calculator->Insert Scammer URL->Click your stole item->Click "Item Showcase" and you make a screenshoot to proof the item was yours and now he has it (must be fast because he can sell/trade it).

  • Report his Steam Profile, but Steam can´t return your items because you accept the trade

  • Report him on SteamRep opening a new scam case, it can takes a time but he will be banned if you contribute with clear proofs

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART WHEN YOU GET SCAMMED:
Don´t get mad, try to relax and report the scammer. You must know internet is a huge site and always people can have bad intentions, so be careful next time and be realistic, nobody will offer you more money or benefit for your items without a clear reason. ALWAYS if you doubt about trade, DON´T TRADE. This tip is the safest way to don´t get crazy with offers and money.

I recommend to you putting in the part that says: "AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART WHEN YOU GET SCAMMED"

You have to put there to report the scammer on SteamRep, so other users can know if hes a scammer or not
