Rational

Using the applications Source Film Maker and Power Director, I was able to craft a 3D animation that tells the story of a pigeon as he flies across the earth from one season to the next. He encounters the hardships of forced migration. The pigeon is intended to be metaphor for migration in general. The action takes place while the song Celestial Motion by Twelve Titans plays in the background. All the props, backgrounds and characters were appropriated from various sources online but ultimately manipulated by myself to convey the story of migration. This in turn, allowed me to spend more time animating the characters’ movements and actions. Some of the movements such as the birds’ flapping of the wings, taking off and landing, were already embedded with the bird models. Otherwise, I had to create movements for every character and model that did not contain embedded animation ability. The story is accompanied by the dramatic words of the Poem by Silent One ‘Camp of Broken Dreams’ which I also sourced online.
