SPOILER WARNING

This game is all about discovery, therefore beyond that basic tools shown below, most of the content of this guide will be hidden in spoiler text (mouse over the black portions to make hints appear). I recommend only resorting to this guide if you're having trouble and getting frustrated.
Basic Tools
In order to survive you'll need to first gain a basic mastery of the wild. These tools will allow you to accomplish most of what you need to do in the game.

What it is:
The hammer, axe, and spade

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries or gold to the first altar

The ingredients, and where to find them:
- One small pile of wood, can be found in: any place with foresty trees
- One bluey stone, can be found in: highlands or rocky mountain

Special Use Tools
You won't need these tools very often, but they have unique and important uses.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you find yourself lost in the darkness, this tool will light your way.

What it is:
The torch

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries or gold to the first altar

The ingredients, and where to find them:
- Three branches, can be found in: any place with foresty trees or shrubbery
- One yellow planty thing, can be found in: the swamp
- One purple planty thing, can be found in: the swamp

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're dying of thirst, this tool will satisfy your desires.

What it is:
The frog-flask

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries or gold to the fourth altar (or maybe the 2nd... I can't quite remember at the moment. Pretty sure it is the fourth.)

The ingredients, and where to find them:
- One frog, can be found in: the swamp
- One stringy planty thing, can be found in: any place with plants

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game Changing Tools
These tools change everything. Proceed with caution.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your brain is full of memories for places and/or recipes, this tool will ease your troubled mind.

What it is:
The blank parchment

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries or gold to the first altar

The recipe:
-Two cat-tails, can be found in: the swamp

Special note:
You can also get blank parchments by leaving non-blank ones outside in the rain.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you can't keep your belly full, this tool is what your body craves.

What it is:
The griddle

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries or gold to the fourth altar

The recipe:
-One piece of giant jungle-tree bark, can be found in: the jungle
- One small pile of jungle-wood, can be found in: the jungle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're constantly having trouble carrying everything you need, this tool will save your life.

What it is:
The backpack

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries or gold to the second altar

The ingredients, and where to find them:
- Two palm fronds, can be found in: the beach
- Two vines, can be found in: the jungle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're sick and tired of your basic tools breaking, this tool will mend your soul.

What it is:
The dynite axe

How to get the recipe:
Offer berries (maybe) or gold to the third altar (note: you'll need to repair it first)

The ingredients, and where to find them:
- One small pile of wood, can be found in: any place with foresty trees
- One piece of dynite, can be found in: the cave

Special note:
Though this tool is highly efficient and durable, it will break eventually. Before it does you should use it to mine more dynite.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game Breaking Tools
These tools kinda ruin the game, making it way too easy to survive. Don't read this section unless you're getting very frustrated with the game. In my opinion it's better to break the game than quit playing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't want to waste time eating food (and who does amiright?), this tool will sustain your hungry soul.

What it is:
The green amulet

Why you shouldn't get it:
It renders all the effort you put into hoarding food and creating advanced cooking and food storage tools pointless.

How to get it:
Hint 1:Have you found the apple tree yet?
Hint 2:It's at the bottom of the hole by the apple tree.
Hint 3:You'll need a rope of some kind to climb down.
Hint 4:You can't craft a rope, but you can find one.
Hint 5:Check the jungle.
Solution:Get a thick vine (by cutting down a large jungle tree wrapped in a vine) and use it to climb down the hole by the apple tree.

Special note:
Basically this tool just turns the gradual decrease in your health bar into a gradual increase, meaning that you will never die. However, overexertion will cause the health bar to go down faster than it can recharge, so take a break when it starts to get low.
Disclaimer
Please keep in mind that this guide is a work in progress. I will be adding many of the other tools to this guide as I continue playing through the game. Having a great time so far!

See you in the wilds!

I'm not sure why everyone uses the spoiler tag way too much for the game guides for this particular game.

Agreed with Rhonda, spoilering blocks Ctrl+F text search

Thanks for the guide, very helpful. But using spoiler-tags in a guide is a) somehow counterintuitive as the ones who look into a guide already expect some spoilers and b) makes it hard/unconvenient to read.
