Europa Universalis IV guides: Albania

I have decided to make a guide for every nation in EUIV in alphabetical order, of course starting with the Free-City of Aachen and ending with the Tribal Monarchy of Zazzau. Each nation will be given an in-depth Guide until the Protestant Reformation unless they are a major country, in which case it may or may not go further.

Getting Started as Albania
Things are pretty hopless for Albania in the start. But you have SKANDERBERG! The only way to survive is by having good allies. Some good allies are Hungary, Austria and Ragusa (Bosnia always allies Serbia.) Improve relations with these countries and fabricate a claim on Serbia. Poland can also later make a good ally if they come into conflict with the Turks. Then if the Ottomans haven't annihilated you yet DECLARE WAR! A good strategy is to camp in Albania and use Skanderberg's skills to annihilated the enemy armies.
War with Serbia
With Skanderberg you should massacre the Serbian and Bosnian armies. The only problem is that the fort in Serbia required 9 units the siege while you start with 5, so you need an ally. In my campaign everything was good until this happened:

TIPS
If Serbia tries to recruit more units, then just waltz round their territory defeating their single unit stacks and leave sieging to your ally.
Allying Byzantium is a bad idea.
It may be wise to either disband all of your fleet, or part of it.
After war with Serbia
Religion
It is a good idea to convert provinces, sadly though Albania is so poor you can't really afford a missionary :(
Bosnia
Bosnia should be next in line for expansion.
Alliance
By this point you should have improved relations enough to get an alliance with another relativly powerful country.
Ideas
Economic idea are a good choice because Albania needs money above all else. Quantity is good later as you need money in the first place.
The Ottomans
It is recommended to stay on the good side of the Ottomans in order to keep you off their "hit list".
Try improving relations etc. to keep them happy. You can destroy the scum once you get powerful allies and grow your empire. Also, attacking them while they're in another war probably won't go well either.
Alternate Scenarios
Ottomans choose you as their 1st target
Start over.
Naples stops being Aragonese PU
Naples can be a tempting target as it's just across the water. You have to grow in power first though.
Skanderberg dies before you assert yourself in Europe
Start over.

If you want to know how to start better than this, watch Florry do his Albania run on the archives channel. It's actually easier than it looks, especially when you aren't playing on very hard like Florry.

This guide is now rather outdated due to map changes. Most notably, Serbia province (Srbija on map) has been split in 2 so that the fort is no longer on the capital making it easier to siege, and giving a decent chance that it's mothballed. A Venetian presence in the area should also affect things a bit. I'd also recommend grabbing Kosovo ASAP and developing it as a priority - money from that gold mine is probably critical.

I'm personally open to the idea but I'm not very experienced in EU 4 and simply do not have the time to research thse countries. There is an unfinished Austria guide which i can finish though.
