Attaining Silver and onward
By Zoltonian (Bloodspilla)
I go over the essentials of what I think is required to get you to silver and my experience with it, mentions of other tcg terms, some light theory nothing too in-depth this is a fairly basic guide, good for a refresher if you find yourself on tilt, but have made the guide as basic as possible so it is also friendly to newcomers with no card game experience.

Essentials
  • Make sure you've got time to yourself that you won't be interruptted.
  • Chuck some headphones on and find some music that you find relaxing.
  • If you find yourself tilting at anytime just walk away do something else and come back later the game isn't going anywhere.
Basic deck/game theory.
I'm not going to paste my deck in here but you can quite easily find some premade ones around or build one yourself.
If you're not confident in doing so then try out some premade ones people have made online or if you're curious give it a go, atleast you can say you tried right?

Alot of people are recommending Abyssian as a faction, while it may seem 'OP' that's all true and good but unless you have a decent understanding of your deck (practice makes perfect, always aim to improve), essential understanding of the basics of the game itself; play some challenges and practice a bit first get a few levels for each faction, this can also help you become aware of what possible cards each faction has and what they are capable of.

Vanar is a good Abyssian counter, alot more cc(Crowd control) to it I find, I'd recommend picking this up contrary to what most are recommending but at the end of the day if you enjoy another faction more go for it (there's no wrong answer or faction it's what suits you, what YOU find fun and rewarding).

I'd say the info under essential is quite so, otherwise if you tilt you make silly mistakes, you have to have the mindset too that you're most likely not going to be on a long win streak you'll lose a few and come back further ahead, even though it might take longer but that's generally what matchmaking is for.

It wouldn't be fun if you facerolled everygame-
doing the challenges and dailies do help open up your mind a bit to different tactics you might previously have never thought of.

Any faction/deck isn't going to automaticaly win you games I've gone up against many Abyssian's (apparently it's considered OP) who had no idea what they were doing or just didn't even know the basics.

Knowing how 'mana curve' works (google the term for an understanding) in other tcgs helps also for generally better draw in your deck and not constant drawing minions & spells you can't afford, gives you a better flow so you can generally place things each turn and stay a consistant threat to your opponent.
Outro
Hopefully you found the guide useful (I tried to lay it out in the most basic sense so newcomers to the genre can understand somewhat).

If everything I've discussed here already seems like common sense to you but you're frustrated you're not getting to silver or higher just take a break, chill out for a bit, have a cup of tea and come back to it.

You'll get there, it can be a bit of a grind sometimes it'll just take time.

Good luck and enjoy your time on Duelyst! :)
