Preliminary: Version Information
As of writing - and if you see a live release with this version or higher, let me know I forgot to update this guide - TRS V3.0.0 is in progress.

There's a lot of problems with the tool that causes it to struggle with a lot of content, so I'm working on fixing it all slowly but surely in one huge release.

If you run into issues, make sure to open a new issue on the GitHub repository so I can get it fixed.
Intro
What is it?
Sorry. Shameless plug to my own program! I've seen a lot of people who want to get SK models working in stuff like SFM so I've taken the liberty of making this possible.

Setup Step 1: Get the program
You will want to start by going to the repository here: https://github.com/EtiTheSpirit/ThreeRingsSharp

Here you can see all the pretty pretty little bits and pieces that make up the final iteration of the tool.
Importing & Exporting For Dummies
Using the program is pretty easy!

It is just like any other avatar. You'll need to take the glTF (.glb) file and import it into Blender, then you can just export as .fbx or .blend depending on your preference.

That is the general assumption to make, yes.

so making animation and renders is fine. But monetizing it would get me into trouble (by monetizing I mean the animation and works I made, let's say I upload them on YT and have it monetized)

That's not something I can really comment on, not my property. Extracting and converting game models is fine, but actually using them for paid content might not be. As far as I can tell GH doesn't really care so long as you aren't outright reselling the content but ultimately that choice is yours. They don't seem to mind existing derivative content.

so you can't get into legal issues with SK, so I'm allowed to make renders or animation of it? Even if its monetized?

Not at all. The engine is entirely open source, in fact (see https://github.com/threerings/clyde )

Is this even legal? could you get into DMCA issue with the game dev?
