Introduction
Early on in TIB you probably won’t be in too much PVP if any at all. PVP is very expensive requiring an ample amount of credits and black dollars and of course the chance that you will die is always looming. For PVP there are two different speeds 2.0 and 2.5, 2.0 is the lowest possible speed attainable while 2.5 is the follow speed of a carrier (more information on that down the road). For both speeds, the only special you need to have is a battle ram, they are usually fairly easy to get a hold of and don't require any changes in gear.
A Beginner's PVP Set

Here is a beginners PVP set up, it honestly doesn't get more basic than this. The matter inverter has a 20 second firing speed which is ideal for the type of PVP a beginner will be involved in. Everything else stays the same as before(if you looked at the “How to Gear Your Ship Guide”) except for a larger hull, as time goes on you will eventually find the hull that fits your needs best, but in the beginning any Holocrine, Carbide or Osmium hull will be great for PVP. The best gear sets you can make are ones that have many interchangeable parts. The more gear you can use for different activities the better!
A Beginner's PVP Set (2 second movement speed)

As time goes on you may see in your alliance chat a call for 2.0 PVP. This PVP requires you to get your ship to the absolute lowest speed possible which is 2 seconds. Early in the game, the costs honestly outweigh the rewards and is incredibly difficult to do without higher rarity gear. However the picture above shows a setup that can get a flayer to 2.0 speed. It isn't cheap to do and every piece of gear has the speed reduction stat. My recommendation is invest your resources into getting better gear for farming so you can make as many credits as possible.
