Preface
Every game worth playing deserves a comprehensive achievement guide in my opinion, so here's a complete A to Z reference for getting 100% completion in The Lost Crown.

As of the writing of this guide, I can confirm two achievements (Saxton Sherlock and Phantom Photomaster) are still bugged. The good news is that, with a little foresight, the workarounds are quick and easy. Yet more achievements are somewhat unintuitive or downright nonsensical though, hence this guide to sum it all up in one place nice and simple. They're also listed in order of when they can be unlocked as you play. It's not necessarily the order you MUST get them, but the order you CAN get them.

Before you get started there are few things you should know:

1. BEWARE, SPOILERS AHEAD. At least to some extent. I highly recommend going as guide-free as possible for your first playthrough. It's worth it for the story and immersion, as both are done exceptionally in this game. This guide is really more tuned as a straight and to-the-point reference for achievement hunting.

2. Make use of all eight save spots in case you miss something. If you start a new save every time you hear the town bell ring, that should keep you set for fairly convenient backtracking.

3. Be doubly sure to save in a seperate spot immediately after talking with Alex Spitmoor on day 5, and again in another spot on your second visit to Ganwulf's tomb. Keep them set aside for later and don't overwrite them. These will be needed to go back for the bugged achievements.

4. The following achievements require certain actions to be completed over the course of multiple days, so you'll want to check ahead to make sure you don't miss anything:
  • Good Listener
  • Spirit Voices
  • Phantom Photomaster
5. Lake.kubilius has already created top notch guides for the collection of EVPs and Ghost Photos, so I'll be providing links and referring to them for the Spirit Voices and Phantom Photomaster achievements. You'll need to follow these guides from the very beginning as well if you want to be certain not to miss anything:

Alright, let's get started!
Holistic Detective
Study the documents and photos stolen from Hadden.

You begin the game with 3 documents and 2 photos in your inventory. Right click to inspect each of them for the achievement.
Intrinsic Isolation
Call out to sea more than once in the Fens.

As you enter the fens from the train station, take the right path, then right again past the man with the binoculars. You'll find yourself at a broken pier on a sand bank facing the sea. Call out to the sea twice by clicking anywhere in the sky.

Undying Undercurrents
Fix the warning sign near the Fenland Eye.

The broken sign is next to the entry of the cave you must enter to reach Saxton from the fens.

Find the 3 pieces scattered about the area:
  1. Laying in the sand in the aforementioned spot where oyu earn the Intrinsic Isolation achievement
  2. On the ground one screen left of the broken sign
  3. On the ground one screen to the right of the broken sign
Inspect the sign, place the pieces on their respective corners, and hold left/right mouse button to line them up.
Chatter Box
Fully talk with Nanny Noah on Saxton Shore.

As you exit the sea cave on your way to Saxton, keep heading left and you'll find Nanny Noah standing on the beach with her dog. Talk to her and exhaust all dialog options.

Home Sweet Home
Find new accommodation in Saxton.

You'll automatically get the achievement after unlocking and entering Harbour Cottage for the first time.
Narcissist
Look in the Harbour Cottage mirror 5 times on Day 1

Pretty self explanatory. When you first arrive in the Harbour Cottage, head to the bathroom, look in the mirror, then look away, and repeat 4 more times.
A Warning to the Curious
Listen to All of Hardachre’s dire warnings.

Exhaust all dialog options when you meet Hardachre outside Harbour Cottage when you first arrive, and again when you follow him out to the end of the sea wall on the first night.
Mirror Mirror
Successfully call up the ghost in the Mirror.

Part of the story progression.
Cat Watcher
Provide Cat Watch with the names of 6 Saxton citizens.

Doesn't actually have to be six different citizens. Just use the cat watch note from your inventory on the pay phone and pick any name from the list. Repeat five times.
My Porcine Friend
Feed Cairan the pig over 20 times.

You'll find the pig sty in the door next to Bob Tawny's place. Click the railing in the front of the pig pen. It will change views and a piece of bread will appear in your inventory, which you can then place on the railing in front of the pig. Just keep repeating until the achievement unlocks.
Environmentalist
Photograph the rare Natterjack Toad.

Once you get the camera, head back to the fens and take the path leading down at the fork. There'll be a toad on the path near the middle of the screen. Use the camera to snap a photo of the toad, making sure not to step forward and make it hop into the water.
Bird Watcher
Successfully photograph the Heron in Saxon Fens.

Continue along the path from where you saw the toad and follow the path up at the next fork until you come back around to the bird watcher. Look through the opening to his left and snap a photo of the large bird.
Lobster Potty
Visit the lobster in The Bear.

Sounds straightforward, but you've gotta visit the mother loving crap out of that lobster to get this achievement. Go around to the back of the Bear pub and click to zoom in on the lobster tank, then walk away to zoom back out. Repeat about 10 times.

Hedge Wych
Pick all available plants and flowers in the country lane.

You'll need to collect 10 different plants/flowers from the area around the country lane and have all of them in your inventory at the same time. This achievement is definitely unlockable, but there's a very specific method to doing so. Here's how to go about it:
  1. Read the recipe book to learn the ingredients for the stew.
  2. Collect the Chives, Cobnuts, Wild Garlic, and Woodland Mushroom.
  3. Return to the kitchen, use the cutting board on the table to chop up the chives, wild garlic and mushroom, then use the mortar and pestle to grind the cobnuts.
  4. Add the above ingredients to the pot.
  5. Katherine will ask you to retrieve some hedgewood balm.
  6. Go upstairs and check the picture in the window that will allow you to identify the balm.
  7. Collect the hedgewood balm
  8. Re-collect the Chives, Cobnuts, Wild Garlic, and Woodland Mushroom.
  9. Return to the kitchen with all 10 ingredients in your inventory to unlock the achievement.
Leonia has put together an excellent guide showing the exact locations of each plant you'll need:

Film Buff
Watch the films in Saxton Museum in their entirety.

There are three in total:
  • On the wall in the room with the butterfly displays
  • In the theater room near #1
  • On floor 2 on the wall near the end of the hallway
All 3 are long AF so be prepared to wait several minutes for each of them to finish. Sorry Oogle, that 10 minute closing time ain't happenin'.

They do loop after a while, but thankfully a "film watched" message will pop up to let you know when you've seen all you need to see on a particular film.
Swot
Thoroughly explore the Saxton Museum.

There's a bit of mystery to this one, but here's what I do know:
  • Must be done on the first visit to the museum
  • It's not 100% dependent on inspecting every item in the museum.
If you're sure you've looked at everything on every floor, listened to all the audio clips and watched all the films, then just putter around for a while longer and it should eventually pop up. I got it while wandering around the first room look at things I'd already seen. My guess is that it simply unlocks after a certain amount of time spent in the museum, or after a certain number of clicks on viewable objects in general.
Ghostbuster
Vanquish the train tracks ghosts on the first attempt.

Make sure you save before you start down the railroad tracks on night 2, and that the charm you got from Nanny Noah is visible when you mouse over the inventory so you don't have to hunt for it. When you step beneath the stuck signal sign, be prepared to select the charm and click on the black smoke that appears on the right.

You'll go to first person for a sort of ghosty shooting gallery mini-game. Just point the charm at any ghosts that come flying at you from left, right or center and click to dispel them before they get to you. Should be pretty easy if you keep the charm in the center between ghosts. As long as you're paying attention you'll ace it no problem.
Grave Dweller
Defeat the Darkness on the first attempt at Northfield.

When you return to Northfield on the 2nd night, make absolutely sure to save before approaching the white church door where you found the book previously that day. This achievement applies specifically to the darkness on the church door, so it doesn't matter if you have an encounter with the smoke inside the church or the rubble on the ground outside.

Once you've got the 5 plants, take a moment to memorize where they'll need to go on the door in relation to where they are in your inventory. Note that if you botch it the first try, the plants may move around a bit in your inventory when you load your save. It's not as easy as the first ghost encounter and may take a couple tries, but you won't need twitch reflexes or anything.

We Three Kings
Successfully photograph the statue of the three Saxon Kings.

Must be done while exploring the museum at night. Take a photo of the three hooded figures on the rotating pedestal near the museum entrance, making sure to snap the shot while they're facing towards you.

Bookworm
Read the books in Saxton Museum’s Library and Celtic Corner.

There are five books to inspect on the shelf just inside the door of Celtic corner. You'll find five more in the museam library.

Once you've acquired the photo of from the museum painting with the crows in the tree, go back to the Celtic Corner bookstore and use it on the book of symbols to unlock the achievement.
True Detective
Study all of the photographs on the wall in the Nightmare Room.

The photographs in question are just to the right of the door when you enter the nightmare room. There are 7 spots to examine including the photo hiding the key.
Ghosthunter
Detect over 20 paranormal events in Harbour Cottage on the Environmeter.

This should unlock through the course of the 3rd night's ghosthunting. Not missable as far as I can tell, but if you think you've seen everything and still haven't gotten it then just keep watching reruns of the various ghost activity in different rooms until it unlocks.
Good Listener
Listen to the story on the Harbour Cottage telephone every day or night.

There are four stories you must listen through completely at different points in time:
  1. Immediately after waking up on the first night. Must be done before going back to bed a second time.
  2. Anytime on the second day or before entering the museum on the second night.
  3. Anytime on the third day before entering the net hut
(The phone will ring on the third night and you must answer it to progress)
  4. Anytime on the fourth day
That’s the way to do it
Keep watching the Punch and Judy show on Saxton Shore.

Click to get a close up view of the Punch and Judy show at the May Day Fair, then sit and wait for 5 minutes. Suggest muting the audio for this if you value your sanity.

Retro Horror
Travel on the Ghost Train 5 times.

Talk to Lucy during the May Day Fair and select the first option to go through the haunted house carnival ride in the truck behind her. Repeat 4 more times.

Lucky Dipper
See all items in the Lucky Dip.

Again during the May Day fair, find the Lucky Dipper barrel behind Mystic Morgan's wagon and just keep clicking on the pile of crap in until the achievement unlocks. There's only 10 different items so it should only take a minute or so.
Spy Glass
Use the Telescope on May Day to see All views from the Little Lighthouse.

Once you get the spyglass back from Bob at the May Day Fair, go out to the little lighthouse on the way to Ulcombe. Use the spyglass on the left side of the screen to spot Ulcombe church. Use it again in the center to look out on the ocean. Finally, use it on the right side of the screen to get a view of Saxton and make sure you wait a few moments to let it cycle through all the buildings.
Cat Snapper
Photograph Mr Tibbs at Ulcombe.

Once all your business is finished at Ulcombe, you'll automatically stop on the path in front of the tower to see Mr. Tibbs waiting for you. Take his photo as he sits there on the stone structure.

Spirit Voices
Collected all EVP’s in the game.

See the Spirit Voices guide by Lake.kubilius: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271134756
The EVP recording in the bathtub at Harbour Cottage can actually be taken as early as the third night, so this achievement may be unlocked during your visit to the Mine.
Paparazzi
Win 1st place in the Saxton Snappers photography competition.

I'm not actually sure this achievement's even missable as I've never seen it happen myself, but I think it's safe to assume that as long as you've dropped at least one photo into the box at Celtic Corner you're pretty much the winner by default. You should get this one on night 4 at the Bear, but if someone here does manage to miss it I'd be interested to hear what happens instead.
Name Dropper
Name all the figures seen in Ganwulfs tomb.

At the very end of the 5th night when you find yourself back in Ganwulf's tomb, you'll see ghostly figures of all the characters you've met standing about the room. Click on each and every one before inspecting the bright light in the center. Be sure and look extra close because some are hiding behind columns, near the edge of the screen, or are grouped together in a way that can make them fairly easy to miss.
To The Future
Complete the Game.

Yep, complete the game.
Bugged achievements (Saxton Sherlock and Phantom Photomaster)
Alright. Now to tackle the bugged achievements. Here's what to do:
  1. Close the game
  2. Go to /steam/steamapps/common/The Lost Crown/ and make a backup copy of TheLostCrown.exe in another folder
  3. In the Steam library list, right click The Lost Crown and go to Properties
  4. Click the Languages tab and change English to Deutsch(German)
  5. Click Close to apply
  6. Wait for Steam to re-download assets
  7. Drag the backup copy of TheLostCrown.exe back to /steam/steamapps/common/The Lost Crown/ and overwrite the existing file
  8. Start the game as usual. Everything will of course be in German.

If you followed my advice at the beginning, you should have two strategic saves near the end of the game. You'll need them for the last two cheevos:

Saxton Sherlock
Successfully identify the Saxton Skelton.

Load up the save from right after talking with Alex Spitmoor on day 5. Head straight for the phone booth and use the note in your inventory to call the crime line. Pick the name Alistair Farleigh, hang up and leave the booth.

Note: You'll need to have found and looked at the book laying on boulder immediately beyond the blast area in the mine. It's right in your face when you walk past it so you're not likely to miss it, but I believe it is technically missable.

Phantom Photomaster
Capture all possible Ghost Photos in the game.

Load up the save in Ganwwulf's tomb right at the end and go through the final motions to end the game. Assuming you found all 24 photos, the achievement will unlock just before the credits.

They're all in the order I was able to get them. Not saying there aren't other ways to do it, but this was how it worked out for me.
Lady Elyene 22 Mar @ 3:36am
Are they in order? I probably missed some but still not finished the game.

I wonder if cat photos are key. I mean, if I were judge there's no way someone would win without at least one cat pic.
SMUUTI 23 Jan @ 7:39am
One was the crow painting and second was the seahorse from the Ulcumbe (hope i spelled it right) church. The second church with Nancy and her brother. Crow painting without the symbol ofcourse
Fractal Fischer  [author] 23 Jan @ 5:40am
Interesting. I wonder if it's looking for a particular shot or just a minimum number of submissions. What were the two photos you took that didn't result in a win?
SMUUTI 22 Jan @ 7:22am
So i already had papparazzi achivment and took only couple of photos for snappers and Oliver won the competition. So i belive it is missable.

Hola, algunos logros no me salen, por ejemplo chatter box o Narcissist
dizzykei 1 Jan, 2023 @ 11:09am
Also about Bird Watcher. I take a photo, when bird was to the left, but got no cheevo. So i continue to watch for the bird and got cheevo only when it appear at he right. You can take photo only once, but cheevo diidn't count until bird will be at the right position.
dizzykei 1 Jan, 2023 @ 11:07am
Ghosthunter is definitely missable. Didn't get. I think you should watch only a certain amount of ghost activities before you can quit. And achievement suggest that you should watch as much as you can.
Fractal Fischer  [author] 14 Dec, 2022 @ 5:52pm
I don't actually know, but from what I've read the bug seems specific to the English version so playing in German presumably avoids the problem entirely. I suppose that as long as you remember to make a save before that point in the game, you can always try it and see, then reload and switch things around if the achievement fails to pop.
