Introduction
This guide started out to see how much resource cap each building increase to get the maximum amount for home city. It expanded to show an overview of all the tech upgrades that includes some relevant detail info from a somewhat vague in-game description.

My main is orc and I have not yet play other races. Info about other race might not be as accurate. Basis for info can be found in-game.
Also let me know what I should add to make it more useful.
Random Info Section
  • All research cost crowns. (Obtain crowns from doing quests, completing achievements, sieging towns then loot, sieging towns then vassal which give 1 crown per vassal per day, doing pvp - win or lose, opting for crown from daily reward, converting 2500 gold per crown with a limit of 30 crowns per day, or buying crowns from in-game Market using Steam Wallet with a limit of each booster per city slot. Crowns reward double if player has premium active except when converting gold into crowns and buying booster pack.)

  • Maximum population cap for home city is 90.

  • Maximum building level is 5. (Strengthen the buildings and reduce tech resource cost but not crown cost.)

  • Orcs can build their structure anywhere that isn't restricted or area reserved for walls.
    Maximum number of orc buildings is 220 (includes Grand Hut).
    Orc buildings auto-repair when damaged. (Building might need to be lvl 3+.)

  • Orcs can research and unlock 66 tech.

  • Men can build their structure on designated building plots.
    Maximum number of human buildings is 26 (excludes Town Hall and Mills) and at least 120 Houses.
    Human buildings have repair ability (when it's not under attack).

  • Men can research and unlock 78 tech.

  • Elves can build their structure on designated great trees. (Great trees also provide wood trickle.)
    Maximum number of elf buildings is 23 (excludes Settlement and Elven Residences).
    Elf buildings have auto-repair ability.

  • Elves can research and unlock 64 tech.

  • There are at least two healing areas in home city. Orcs have healing oases, Men have healing wells, and Elves have healing hot springs.

  • Ranged units on towers have additional range bonus (though it doesn't show on the stats but it should have a small tower icon on the small unit icon near the bottom to denote the bonus effect).

  • You would want at least one of every buildings for your race to obtain the tech/upgrades. After that, it depend on your playstyle whether you want to achieve the max resource cap or have enough military buildings so you don't have to wait for a queue. Most importantly it's your city, do whatever you want.

  • Regardless of the home city resource capacity, the hard cap is 500k gold. (Also any gold past the resource capacity will be lost over time, depending on how much gold over the cap.)
