The Precursor Cannon has a plasma blast effect now.  Down in the Lost River, the tree and brine pools are looking great, along with the Tree Alcove area with Ghost Rays.  The lava zone biome is fully developed with lots of new creatures, like the Crimson Ray and Sea Emperor Leviathan.  Moving over to the Deep Grand Reef cavern, the last of the abandoned Degasi bases is ready to explore and finally another return to the Lost River bonefield to enjoy the new lighting and brine pools. Enjoy.

"Subnautica" is an Early Access game in which you descend into the depths of an alien underwater world filled with wonder and peril.  Craft equipment, pilot submarines, terraform voxel terrain and out-smart wildlife to explore lush coral reefs, volcanoes, cave systems, and more - all while trying to survive.

To use the console command window in the game, press F3, then F8 (to use the mouse..yes, it's a bug), uncheck the "Disable console" box at the top of the menu.  Close both menus and now you can press your tilde (~) key or ENTER button at any time to type in commands.

To opt-in to Subnautica's "Experimental" mode (which gives you daily updates):
1. Right click "Subnautica" in your Steam library
2. Choose "Properties"
3. Click "Betas" tab
4. Select "Experimental" from the list
5. Let Steam update the game
6. Run the game

The artifact, like the one I found, is supposed to be Precursor key that will unlike energy doors when they are placed in the various bases and the cannon. The key are not useful at the moment since the locked doors haven't been put in yet.
