After trying every available suggestion on steam or anywhere else, I never managed to make it show anything but a black screen on Windows 11. On Windows 10 it did work, but not on 11. Several dgvoodoo configurations, the single d3d8.dll, the d3d8.dll along with dxwrapper.dll and dxwrapper.ini, several combinations of the above alogn with compatibility options for WinXP, 98, admin rights, etc, nothing worked. Anyone managed to make it work on Windows 11? I am running core i5 10400 and rtx 3060ti.

No worries! It's weird how the game literally needs a fix to work, still have no idea what broke in it or when, but glad it's still working with the fix!

For those who were unabel to fix it with this method or could not find the program. To fix it it's the same fix for Soul Reaver 2, which works perfectly with Blood Omen 2. The only thing you need to do is download the Direct3D 8 to Direct3D 9 wrapper https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases . It's a single .dll file that needs to be put in the main folder of the game.

The file is called "d3d8.dll", just drag that into your game's folder and it will fix. There is also Peixoto's patches but that disables steam usage for some reason, but is not neccesary.

Just want to leave this comment here for anyone that tries any of these fixes. Each one will work in it's own way but you need to cap the frame rates or leave VSync on. If you do not and your FPS runs in the thousands like my system does with this game, the menu will not work and it will break a lot of physics. So if you try a fix and it doesn't seem to fix your frozen menus or you are having your physic problems, be sure to try these as well.

i only run Linux, this game starts and plays fine on my os. i have a ryzen 1700x and a vega56

Remember to check the BO2 exe file's properties and run it in compatibility mode.

i can still play this game on window 10 but a older grafic card and it works find it only crashed 3 time in the beginning and now it works finllay i played for 2 hours with no problem
