PLOT:
Earth is under siege by an alien race. Men are being captured and transformed into monstrous mutant soldiers, while women are rounded up for a twisted breeding program. To ensure the survival of these experiments, the aliens grant their captives enhanced strength and superhuman abilities.

But not all of them are willing to comply. A few of these women are fighting back, using their newfound powers to battle the invaders and anyone else who stands in their way. Their goal? To join the resistance and become the ultimate force against the alien menace—the Bad Ass Babes.

Bad Ass Babes is designed for PC. A keyboard is required unless you manually configure a game controller in the settings. No mouse is needed for gameplay.

Customization & Gamepad Support:
Controls can be fully customized in the Options > Controls menu.
Gamepads must be manually configured in this menu; they do not auto-configure.
You can toggle gamepad support on or off from the same menu.

Display Settings:
The game defaults to windowed mode (960x480).
You can adjust resolution and fullscreen mode in Video Settings.

There is also buttons for item menu and move list. Check main menu controller settings to configure all controls.

🔹 Biggest Tip: Experiment with different combat strategies! Each character has a unique fighting style, so mix up your attacks to find the best combos. Try combining:

Every character has strengths and weaknesses, but all can juggle enemies with the right combinations. You can also pick up and use weapons or throwable objects to gain an edge in battle.

🛡 Defensive Play: Blocking can be a great way to lure enemies in. Once they’re grouped up, unleash a special attack (press Attack + Jump together) to perform a multi-directional strike that knocks them away.

Hold Attack to fire continuously or tap it for controlled shots.
Press Block to activate a protective shield.
Aim for the head to take down enemies faster!

🏍️ Bike Levels
Hold Attack for rapid fire or tap to shoot manually.
You can still dodge incoming threats.
Fire forwards and backwards for full control of the battlefield.
Run movement is still possible while riding.
Press Block to brake and quickly shift to the left side of the screen.

🕹 My controller doesn’t work!
You need to configure the gamepad buttons manually in the game menu using a keyboard first. This is why the game is listed as having "partial controller support"—it’s not just plug-and-play.

🎮 I messed up my controls and don’t remember what button does what!
If you need to reset your controls, follow these steps:

Go to the game's save folder:
📂 Steam\steamapps\common\Bad Ass Babes\Saves
Delete the file named bad ass.cfg to reset controls to default.
If that doesn’t work, delete all .txt files in the Saves folder.
📏 Since the latest update, my screen is really small!
You can adjust this in Video Settings from the game menu.
🔹 If that doesn’t fix it, your save files may be corrupted. Delete all save files manually:

Most cases will be handled automatically by the update, but if issues persist, a full reset is recommended.

🟥 There are weird colored boxes/text over characters and objects!
This is a debug mode setting that can be turned off manually:

Go to Options Menu → System Options → Debug Settings
Disable all debug options
If these graphics appeared without you enabling them, your save files may be corrupted due to an update. In that case, follow the same steps as above and delete all save files.

🌐 Can I play online with other people?
Not by default, the game is local multiplayer only. This is a restriction of the OpenBOR engine.
However, third-party apps like Parsec can allow for online play by simulating local co-op.

💻 Will this game work on my PC? What are the minimum requirements?
The OpenBOR engine is lightweight and has been known to run on Windows 95!
Exact minimum specs are unknown, as performance depends on your system. However, it runs smoothly on older Windows XP laptops used for bar-top arcade setups.

📸 My screenshots have text all over them!
The game engine’s default screenshot button is F12, which conflicts with Steam's overlay.
This will be changed in a future update. In the meantime, you can remap it in the Controller Options menu.

🚫 How do I remove the censored parts?
You can’t, and the game cannot be modified to do so.

The game is designed to be R-rated, not X-rated, keeping it suitable for distribution while maintaining a grindhouse, cheesy 80s/90s film aesthetic.

🔹 What is censored?

Female genitalia (clitoris, vaginal movement, explicit sexual acts).
Implied penetration and erect penises attached to characters.
However, once an enemy's penis falls off, it turns into a humanoid, walking penis creature, which is more of a comedic element than a sexual one.
These censors are hardcoded into the game, meaning there are no hacks, cheats, or mods that can remove them.

💡 Final Thoughts on Censorship
This game is not meant to be pornographic, but rather a tribute to cheesy, over-the-top grindhouse films of the 80s and early 90s. The level of nudity strikes a balance between edgy and comedic, staying within the intended exploitation movie aesthetic.
