Beskrivelse
Town Topic opened in downtown Kansas City toward the tail end of the Great Depression (1937). Many say a visit to this diner is a trip back in time. The recipe for their burgers remains unchanged from when it first opened it's doors, though no longer for the original 5¢ price. It's enduring presence in the heart of Kansas City, makes it a tiny yet beloved landmark.

As a guy that has lived in KC my whole life, I love this collection so much. It's always cool to see NY and LA, and all the other big cities, but most of the time KC gets skipped. I saw Lightfoot's collection and nearly melted. Thanks! :D

Best building I've found on here so far. As a life long Kansas City resident this building goes in every city I build. Thanks for making this and sharing it.

Love this building! Love the history behind it. Thanks for sharing <3

Thanks. Oh well (laughs at self). But perhaps the hamburgers are enormous and well worth going there for :-)

@CoolantCorrie, I'll do you better than a screenshot: https://goo.gl/maps/Kd257VWnDWhe5LzB7 . Though you could have looked at the two above the description and saved yourself some trouble. The building is not more than a half-meter taller than a full-size pickup truck, and not wide enough to fit a dozen people. Moral of the story is: If you don't want a tiny hamburger bar from the 30's, don't download a tiny hamburger bar from the 30's.

The scale is off. Wish I'd taken a screenshot as the building was only very slightly taller than an adult cim standing nearby. I plopped it with Plop the Growables - maybe it grows to proper height in due course?? Shame as I love the look and the concept. Unsubbed.

@jet_boy, I can see you've never eaten here before.

Looks like undersized. Need bigger to realistic.

This is the place to go when you're drunk at 3 AM. I used to work at a restaurant down the street at 1900 Main. I smoked cigarettes in college (I quit many years back, thanks) and they would let you smoke in this place, besides being very small. If you asked for an ashtray the counter lady would shout "use the floor."

I lived in KC off and on since 1995 and still never ate there. That may change today. Awesome asset! So is Gates BBQ, or Authur Bryant's or anything 18th and Vine next?
