Mishmash Of Hints And Tips
For newbies: try to minimise the number of rockets used to hit all the targets. Bullseyes mean more profit. Hold left-shift to fine-tune your launch.

Use the Gravity/Velocity/Composite camera views to see further into the distance. Or you can do it the stupid way like I did and play the entire game in Overwatch mode, right-click-dragging the camera to look ahead.

Go with the flow. Don't try to power backwards, even if you miss the target, because that's the quickest way to waste fuel. Keep moving forwards and make small blips to gently change direction. Look ahead to find other targets and/or circle back around for your original target and get it the next time.

It's tempting to use maximum power to make a beeline for the target but a) speed makes it harder to click the spot and b) changing direction uses more fuel so you run out quicker and career out of range. Watch the flares, launch slowly, burn in small bursts and try to look where you're going before each burn. Resist the urge to hold the boost and power towards the general direction. There are no time limits, you can take as long as you like and the longer you keep your rocket moving the better your chances of scoring.

Don't stop. If you're stationary you're not going to hit anything. The trick is to move slowly and steadily.

Try to set a wide, decaying orbit and ping the outer target(s) on multiple passes.

When you run out of fuel don't hit the destruct button, let it drift. You might find your trajectory eventually hitting a target. It's quite common.

You can ping the same target up to 3 times. Try to do that for extra profit and/or afford more rockets to complete the level successfully and/or improve your grade.

Spam the target! Keep clicking as you pass, it's an easy way to get multiple hits.

If you make a perfect path, do it again! Your launch will still be set in the same position so you can try to get more hits and increase your profit. Bear in mind that your last attempt is the one that counts so if you don't think you can do any better, leave it at that and move on.

Fire clouds: Always drift through fire. It's your own burn that's ignited. If your mothership is surrounded by fire you can launch safely in any direction, just don't burn until you're out of it.

Level 49 - escaping the cloud if you're trapped: See that smaller dial to the right of the power dial? That's right, I never paid it any attention either until the devs pointed it out to me after I reported a "glitch". It's the burn duration. If you set it to absolute minimum you'll see the flares behaving normally again and you should have no trouble launching.
