Zombasite Mods! U・x・U
By RobDeLaMorte
Notice: The mods have all been broken, and I don't know how or why. It must have been some update, but the files and such weren't renamed or anything so I actually can't figure out how to fix it. None of these mod downloads work now. Having said that, you can still directly edit the files in Assets004.zip and use these files to tell you what some of the files do. That's about all that can be done right now.

I am making this a thing now! And I totally didn't copy Soldark's style for how he made those Din's Curse mods back on his website or anything. >>

So yeah, if you're getting your ass kicked SUPER hard by the game, give some of these a try. :3 I'll think up some more later on maybe. Installing them takes a little effort but doing it this way means the game shouldn't wipe out the mods everytime it updates. Maybe.

By the way I've no idea how mods interfere with multiplayer so that might be a thing unless you all have the exact same stuff. Also while you can still get achievements as far as I can tell, it'll feel cheap so yeah.

Edit: Turns out there are mods on their website's forums. o.o So check http://www.soldak.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=39 for some other ones, rawr.

How to install the mods
EDIT: I found out that you can put them in ZIP files (With a blank database folder inside with the mod file in there. Open up one of the ZIPs to see what I mean.) and they only have to be inside the Assets folder itself to work! I'll leave the old way here too though just in case people want to use that. :D

Once you've downloaded the mods (They're below, silly :3) you should move them to the Assets folder in the Steam directory. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zombasite\Assets" for Windows 7 users, might be different for other people though.

Then open up Assets4.zip, and open the Database folder inside of it, which should give you what I have in that image. Then all you have to do is go back on your Assets folder and CLICK AND DRAG the .gdb mod files into that area with the other ones in the zip. Or I guess you can copy and paste normally too. Same result. >>

In theory these should stay even with updates, but deleting your game files will erase them if they're in the zip, so I'd recommend keeping a backup copy somewhere rawr.

Note: All of my mods have comments in the actual files, so if you're not sure what something means just take a nose inside. They're just basic notepad files after all. :3
Easy Levelling Mod
Download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sgctefdoxr9zaot/ModEasyLevelling.rar?dl=0

This mod only changes experience related things. It's for those who want the core gameplay experience still, but with some of the edge taken off the levelling.

Highlights include: A lowered base Exp cap needed for levelling up, slightly increased combat exp from monsters, an increase to low level clan NPCs exp bonus, lowered exp penalty for each death and more bonus exp for doing miscellaneous stuff like fully exploring a map or disarming traps.

Edit: Slightly upped the XP base cap again. 2500 was making things WAY too cushy even for an easier levelling mod. xD Also very slightly increased certain actions (Unlocking, disarming traps, fully exploring maps and stuff) reward XP.
Casual Mode Mod
Download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qeh4zx5d3rjazba/ModCasualMode.rar?dl=0

I was close to calling it Dorak Mode but I thought that'd be a bit cruel. >> Anyway this one has the changes of the Easy Levelling mod and a lot more besides.

Players have greater starting stats, gain more stat points and max health per level up, money and food items drop slightly more often, the hunger system has been slowed down significantly, NPCs are much less likely to go insane and butthurt at you, enchanted enemies/bosses do much less damage, and Beastmaster trait NPCs will give guards a nice amount more health so they don't die to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Imps all the time. >>

Once again, detailed information is in the file itself as comments.

Edit: Slightly increased the starting XP to level (Getting to L10 within two maps is silly!) although it's still below the default game. Also added increased Clan door health to help with stopping the town being broken open within 8 seconds of an attack. (This will also buff other clans though, hope you have plenty of fire bombs. >:D)
Gentle Pacing Mod
Download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u4uqdlijfh1owy9/ModGentlePacing.rar?dl=0

This mod removes the XP penalty for Slow/Very Slow Pacing AND Low Stress modifiers for creating worlds, as well as giving a +5% XP bonus for Fast and Very Fast Pacing if you dare to take them! :D

That's all this mod changes, so it's great for newer players who want to play with a little less frantic stress while still retaining the hardcore nature of the game.

Note: I've noticed a bug where sometimes worlds start with multiple of these modifiers when they totally shouldn't. O.o The weirder thing is that this mod doesn't change anything like that, only the XP penalties, so I'm not really sure.
Siege Tower Pls Mod
Download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/65l5oe4e9xyvkj8/ModSiegeTowerPls.zip?dl=0

Made to help the peoples suffering from being set on fire repeatedly. :3 This mod increases your gate health from 100(+50 per level) to 500(+75 per level) so that any invaders who spawn at the same time won't just rinse through your base in seconds flat. Keep in mind this will power up EVERY clan's doors however, so bring fire weapons and allies or prepare to smack doors a lot when you raid.

Apart from that, it also nerfs the siege quests a nice bit. The amount of spawned siege towers is decreased from 2-5 at once to 1-3, the damage they deal is lowered from 250% to 200% and I tried to lower their firing rate by a bit by lowering their projectile chance. (No idea if that works so let me know if anyone can check that >>)
Stamina Pls Mod
Download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6myae1xwvr12ro1/ModStaminaPls.rar?dl=0

This one's pretty simple. You'll have a higher stamina level and regeneration speed, with a cheeky +33% (+8% more than default) speed boost when it's full. It's meant to make it so that you can run past enemies at least at your normal speed without fear of running out of stamina and basically being stuck amongst them. And if you DO run out? You'll just move at your default speed! :3

Keep in mind that enemies drain your stamina when they're alerted to your presence and when they're within about a half-screen's distance chasing you. If you equip gear that lowers your Notice stat (Starts at 100, the lower the better, soft caps at about 10) then you'll be able to sprint right by most enemies except the really annoying ones like Screes. ¬_¬
And remember...
If these mods seem to cheesy and easy modo to you, you're welcome to edit them to your tastes. :3 I'll even throw in a basic way for you to do your own mods, although it's a pain to really explain properly.

Basically, make a notepad file and to keep it simple name it something like "ModFileName". (Note: It'll be a .txt file but you want to Save As and change the extension to .gdb) Next, go browsing in Soldark's scripts like a dirty little hacker until you find the thing that you want to change. In this super easy example I'll just point out the "CombatEventTime" whatever the hell that means. xD

Basically, anywhere where there's a line you want to edit, you need to make sure that you have the main catagory it comes under, the thing that's directly above the first open bracket. (In this screenshot case it's "CombatSystem". So in your fresh notepad file the first line needs to be "ModFileNameCombatSystem overrides CombatSystem". When that's done, you follow it with that squigly bracket and then put the line/s in for that catagory you want to edit. In this case it'd be " CombatEventTime 7.5" whereupon you'd edit the number value to something else. Did you follow that? >>

In the screenshot of my mod, you can see that all of that stuff's under the catagory "GameSystem" so it's nice and simple. Just remember to close the bracket at the end of the catagory if you're done or want to add a new one. (Adding a new one's as simple as just making a space and then doing that new part all over again.

If you're not sure, just nose at how I did mine and around the Database files until it clicks. It's really straightforward after a while. :3

Final Note: Be EXTREMELY careful of editting any Skills or Skill point gains as this will directly power up all human NPCs including enemy human clans. It's tempting to give yourself like 10 skill points a level up, but when you're being instantkilled from offscreen by NPC mages with L80+ lightning bolts? It's not great. >>

Also don't enable Zombie Clans from game start. Unless you want to be killed by dozens of angry boss-level zombies covered in enchantments.

Found a fix/workaround for mods to work again (windows 10)
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/408960/discussions/0/3178980819236717193/

Fix / Workaround (Windows 10):
Create a new folder called Database in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zombasite\Assets directory.

unzip the .gdp mods in this folder and play the game, they should work now.

Example of a mod called: ModStaminaPls.rar from guide above, unzip example:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Zombasite\Assets\Database\ModStaminaPls.gdp

Good Luck!

Although at least, that's the best part about Soldork's games; the scripts and stuff are super easy to modify to how you want it, and it's pretty easy to figure out what stuff does what too. :3 You can customise it to make it as cheesy easy or silly hard as you like!

I wasn't any help... UwU

Figured it out, thanks to the developer helping me out.

"You can mod it pretty easily. You just want to change UseStamina value to 0 in Database/systems.gdb."

Now I'm running around freely, works great and makes the game much more enjoyable!
RobDeLaMorte  [author] 13 Sep, 2017 @ 10:31pm
It looks like it's still there. ; ; I really have no idea why the mods don't work now, but hopefully you can mmake the changes yourself. It's pretty simple really.
X Knyght 13 Sep, 2017 @ 8:49pm
Ok thanks for taking a look. I just hope the developer just get rid of that stamina mechanic or at least give us an option to turn it off.

Yeah I've got no idea why they aren't working. The system files and shit didn't change, but somehow they broke my mods forever! >_<

All I can say is find the Assets004.zip folder in your steam directory for Zombasite, and use my mods as a kinda basic guide on what parts to edit directly in the open zip instead. (Don't unpack, just edit directly by double clicking the .gdb files instead)You'll find PlayerBase which lets you set your starting stamina and stuff under "Classes" file and editting the stamina status effects for full/empty stamina bars in the "statusEffects" file.

If you or anyone else wants specific directions then ask me, but other than that I'm afraid you guys are on your own. >_<

OwO Wait! Found them! In... My Spore game's folders. I'm not even sure where to begin with what's wrong with that but whatever. I'll get on this. xD

*Searching PC for zombasite mod files and doesn't find them* o.o

Well. This is a thing. X Knyght you uh... You might need to wait some more minutes I'm afraid. >_< I need to reinstall Zombasite, poke around their assets folders again to find the right thing, edit the thing in a new file, test the thing, and then upload it for you.
