Foreword
This guide is mostly about common mistakes that Monsters tend to make (either through inexperience or simply because of not realizing the problems that it causes), and that I've seen at least multiple times as both hunting down the monster as a Hunter, or as a Monster myself.

Now, I am not a "super 1337 h4xx0r pro" player at Evolve. I'd say I'm mediocre at best, but this is about the common and simple mistakes monster players tend to make.

That said, read on if you wish to see any bad habits you may or may not have!
Over-Committing to a Single Target
This is by far the single biggest mistake that I see Monsters make frequently.

Now, having a priority target is important, especially if it's the Medic or Support, but flat out ignoring the other 3 will cause you no end of problems. I see too many times that Monsters get a tunnel vision on a single target so as long as that single target can keep running there is nothing the Monster can do to stop him.

As a general rule of thumb try to prioritize a target, but if you can't immediately hit them then attack whoever you can on your way. You'll be dishing out extra damage without wasting much time, and you may force whoever you were focusing into a worse situation since he can't rely on his team as easily for cover.

In addition to that, being able to deal damage to others while you are on your way can set up a potential extra incap, which means more strikes, so you make your life easier in the long run. It's generally a better trade off to let the your priority target be if you can secure a couple incaps, than to get the incap on your one target and the other 3 people on his team walk away scot free.
Making Medic Alone a Priority Target
Before you go and hit that downvote hear this out: Yes. I get the Medic should be a priority target, but in some cases he is NOT the biggest problem.

As a quick example, say you focus EMET, and they have a Hank. Well, Hank will just keep shielding him and EMET will be no worse for wear, but if you go after Hank along the way, EMET will still only get the same amount of healing but the damage you done will be more significant since Hank can only shield himself so much.

Obviously this changes case to case, but you need to consider who is giving you the biggest problem. There are 4 hunters, each with their jobs, and it's up to you to decide who's job is making yours more difficult. Having issues getting to the Medic and Support? Generally the Trapper is a good choice. Trapper an easy target if it weren't for somebody helping him escape? That's probably the support you need to get.

Remember: If your job is difficult, consider which one of the 4 of them is causing it to be, and try to make that your priority target. Generally it WILL be the Medic, but the Medic is also usually the most protected. Just go along the line and see who you can kill to make your life easier.
Ignoring The Assault
If you ignore the Assault, you are ignoring the guy who is basically the only one killing you. Now, that is not to say you should focus the Assault, but rather if you know his shield is down then it's worth it to try and at least knock him down. The less damage you are taking the better.

His team will try to help him, and as such they should be who you go after first, but if you have a chance and his team isn't presently causing you a problem throw a couple hits the Assault's way. You'll cause a couple of things:
-First he'll probably have to back off, meaning you have more time to take out the people you need.
-Second you may just get an incap on him, or set him up to one so he can no longer protect his team.
Ignoring Deployables
Deployables die quickly and you can basically flash whatever AOE you have, but they will always make your life hell.

Whether it's the damage output of Bucket's Turrets, the healing bonuses of EMET's Buoys, Markovs Mines, or harpoons/snares, ignoring a deployable will just make your life tough. Don't focus on them, but make sure you do something about them along your way.
Not Preparing for the Dome Running Out
Avoiding a dome is better in the early game, but should you get caught in one (Which is fairly likely) you need to get out quickly, and escape.

If you waste your traversals just before the dome wears out though, you aren't going far. Same if you decide to commit too hard to a fight.

Keep an eye on the dome timer, and when the timer starts running low or your armor just broke in addition to getting an Incap (or 2 incaps), start making preperations to flee. Save up some traversals and try to break line of sight before running. Nothing is more painful than trying to use a traversal then proceeding to be met by a Griffin Harpoon, but it gets worse when it was your only traversal.

Early Stages this is the most important, since you need to avoid as much damage as possible, so the moment you see dome is about to expire you should be ready to leave. Set up your escape route, be patient, and then fly like the wind.
Not Breaking Line of Sight
What good is running if you still make yourself visible to the hunters? As you are fleeing from an encounter always look for the first way you can break line of sight, then plan your route from there.

If you don't break line of sight you are essentially saying "Follow me" but your best tool for surviving as a weak monster is not getting caught in the first place.

The moment you break line of sight you have new areas you can go safely, where if you don't do that the best you can do is build distance, and if they can just corner you again you accomplished nothing but stall for time.
Using a Predictable Path
I've lost count how many monsters I see just go around the outside of the map and expect not to get caught. The moment you have a predictable path like this then all it takes is for one group to branch out and go where you are going to be, since it's easy to figure out.

Move unpredictably. Sometimes use the outside path, sometimes take a shortcut through the middle, sometimes double back. Sometimes just simply hide until the hunters pass by if you know their scanner is on cooldown. You have a sneak mode that means you don't leave footprints so you can hide behind a wall while they follow a trail you just left and by the time they find out you can easily be long gone.
Don't forget that Water also doesn't leave footprints, so anything you can do to buy yourself time is good, but simply leaving a predictable path will just get you trapped every single time.
Failing to Track Hunter Locations
You have a LOT of tools the Hunters wish they had to track you.

You have a smell ability, and it shows all hunters locations within a respectably large radius.
You have a 3rd person camera allowing you to see over and around walls.
You can guide where the hunters have to go since they gotta follow you, not the other way around.

They shouldn't really be able to catch you by surprise. Find out where they are, where they are likely to be, and just turn the tables on them. If you know one of them is alone capitalize on that, knock them down. If you can incap them you get the benefit of a free getaway, since they can't dome for 10 seconds. If you know they are grouped up just find another way around or hide.

You can always see them when they are on your trail, they can only see you once in a while. Make use of it. Especially when you plan to evolve.
Going to Disadvantageous Areas
Let's say you are Gorgon, a monster that has an ability that is cancelled when you personally take damage. Do you want to encourage a fight around an area that has no cover for you to use it?

Every monster has their good and bad spots to fight, make sure that if you have to fight you at least encourage your advantage (either by encountering the hunters there, or making sure that you know they'll have to meet your there).

Below is a table of general good and bad areas to fight as certain monsters:
Monster
Good Terrain
Bad Terrain
Goliath/Meteor Goliath
Enclosed Area, Little Cover
Large Spaces between Vantage Points
Gorgon
Areas with Lots of Cover, High Altitude Walls
Open Spaces
Kraken
Open Spaces, Places with Little Cover
Spaces with lots of cover
Elder Kraken
Enclosed Spaces, Places with Little Cover
Spaces with lots of cover
Wraith
Places with Lots of Cover, Cave Systems
Enclosed Areas, Extremely Open areas
Behemoth
Enclosed Spaces, Tight Caves, Narrow Passages
Highly Vertical Spaces, Wide Open spaces
Bad Routing
Every map has good and bad spots at getting food. However just going after individual meals here and there will not get you very far. Find where these spots are and try to plan a way to visit all of them, and plan backups in case Hunters cut you off.

On this note as well: Don't stop or double back for food, and always attack food ahead of time. Doing this gives Hunters time to catch up, which you don't want. If you miss food cut your losses keep moving and route out a way to get back. If you can shake the Hunters and get back you can quickly grab the meal on the way without wasting time.
Stalling for Time
There is a timer, and it pauses whenever you fight. If it runs out Hunters win. However if you are just running and not getting anything out of it the Hunters make progress towards that, so should the game last long enough you still lose. If you aren't going to fight then get food, don't just focus on running.
Closing Words
Well, that's it for now. If you feel another section should be added, or something should be corrected feel free to leave a comment below. Otherwise, hopefully this helps you in your predatorial prowess as a Monster, and if you knew all this already well as previously stated this is mostly common mistakes monsters make that results them in getting caught quickly or flat out losing.

Get a long distance away, take cover, and make sure you have food ready the moment you finish.

I'm sorry but I'm deleting your previous comment, it holds no relevance to this post.

There are numerous forums to post complaints like that, this is not one.
