HMS Campbeltown Operation Chariot

A 1:1 scale replica of the Royal Navy destroyer HMS Campbeltown in her 1942 Operation Chariot configuration. Designed to take out the dry dock at St Nazaire, she was modified to resemble a Kriegsmarine torpedo boat and loaded with explosives, intending to ram the gate and detonate the charges.

In game she functions much the same way, just ram your unfortunate target at full speed, and the ramming damage will detonate the charges. (I tried fiddling about with ACB's to do it but they were temperamental, and the ramming often set off the charges anyway.)

The few guns she has are historically accurate. However FtD's physics do not like the hull design at all and extensive active stabilisation measures had to be fitted to stop her rolling over. (Though apparently the actual ship rolled a lot so maybe it isn't entirely FtD's fault...)

Detection equipment is minimal as most stuff was removed for the coversion.

It should go without saying that taking hits with this ship is not recommended as she has the bare minimum of armour and is loaded with things that don't react too well to bullets.
