I honestly think it's worth it even without VR if you're into the emulation stuff. It was a fair bit of work customizing my arcade to the point in that video but it was a lot of fun. I made a lot of the cabinet skins myself as well, I've shared them all in the Artist's Alley section of the forums.
This means you need to be good at figuring out how to set up all the emulators/roms. It's not too hard, but it's not exactly "plug and play" either. I recommend checking out the guides on the forums.
