How to fix boss battles and other problems
By Green Lawny
RoboBlitz is a very old game and as a result it has many issues on modern hardware. One of the most glaring ones is that boss battles are broken and act very strangely. After some experimentation, I figured out the cause. It turns out that on modern hardware, the game can run above 60 fps which causes issues in the physics engine. So, how do we fix it? Simple, we must manually lock the FPS to 60!

Step-by-Step
In order to limit the FPS of the game, we will need external software. There are usually ways to do this in the configuration file, however it seems that the version of UE3 the game uses is too outdated for this.

So what software can we use?
After some searching I figured that the best software to limit the FPS with would be "Dxtory", so go ahead and download the trial version of Dxtory from the official website[exkode.com].

After downloading and installing the software, boot it up, click past the trial warning and you should be greeted with something like this:

If you haven't launched the game yet, you may not see all of the information here, but don't worry, it's fine.
It looks pretty complicated, but we don't need to do much.

In order to fix the game, first click this icon:

The screen should now look similiar to this:

Under "Other option", you should see a checkbox saying "Limit Video FPS". I'm sure you can see where this is going. Check the box and then write "60" next to it. This means Dxtory should automatically limit your video FPS to 60. This will allow RoboBlitz to run correctly on modern hardware.

Remember: You may need to turn off Dxtory when going to play other games as they will end up limited to 60 FPS too!

i hope this guide works for you and fixes problems and errors you encounter while playing the game! Enjoy the classic!

I doubt anyone reads this but... I have a problem with the very first level, where I can't progress because of invisible walls. I tried limiting FPS to 60, then to 30 and it still doesn't work. There's so little information about this game, so I'd be glad for any help at all.

You can also do this via the Nvidia Control Panel (or equivalent on AMD) and have it not affect all other games on your computer

You're an absolute godsend. Thanks for making this guide so I could finally replay one of my all-time favorites. I was so frustrated that I couldn't finish it the first time I tried playing it on PC cause of all the high FPS bugs lol

Also you can use NVidia's control panel to do the same thing for only this game (I believe that's also true for an AMD's one)

I doubt many people play this these days. But this really helped me get past that first NOED. I was wondering why he wasn't crashing into the grates.
