A Beginners Tips Guide
So you bought this game and don't know what to do? Well, first off, let's start a new game, since you just purchased this game. You get to choose a pre-made character from a list of several of them. Depending on which one you choose, the starting village will have different opinions about your character.

Ok, now you started in this big town, and have no clue what to do. Well, let's start looking for NPC's with either specific names or roles. Asking any generic townsfolk usually gets a rude response. Just be aware your looking for NPC's with specific names as those are the ones that give the quests and such. Make sure to use the minimap if you get lost in the town. The minimap also displays the "important" NPC's in a town. They tend to be shown as "white dots". This includes quest givers, or guards.

Ok, so you found a NPC named a special role or name. Make sure to ask all the topics, except the one that makes them move out of your way. They give you a quest that will show up in your journal. Just be aware that there is not any quest markers, you need to figure out the quests yourself and what to do. If you need to review what to do, read the journal log, it really gives good info on the quests.

There are also specific NPC's that are either merchants, healers, blacksmiths, or carriers. I will mention each one below and their roles. The merchants sell everthing from healing items and food items to generic armours. Be aware the blacksmith usually sells better armours and such. The healer well heals you for damage. Not that there is no inn's or sleeping places in this game. You need to use them to heal, or potions you make with alchemy. The blacksmith is where you get all your weapon and armour needs. He also can repair equipment that is about to break for a high price.

Carriers are special NPC's that carry special quest items for your character and protect them. They do not carry extra monster drops like i thought...they are only useful for certain quests..

You can run in the game by using the "R" on your keyboard. If you cannot run, you might be over-encumbered with too much stuff. You can check the max weight of your characters pressing the "C" button.

You character can control time! This is true. Press "T" on the keyboard and it lets you advance time. Sadly, your character cannot heal using this method.

Did you know you can search maps for items? You use the "ALT" key. You can find everything from plants to items dropped by monsters. Be aware that making the game into nighttime might be easier to spot the items.

Also, notice that each NPC has a level? This is important especially with the healer and blacksmith. Depending on their levels, they can only heal or fix for a certain amount on your character. The higher their level, the more than can heal or fix.

Random NPC's might also ask your character that they are hungry or cold. If there cold, provide them with a wolf's fur from killing a wolf outside. If there hungry, you can usually get jerky from a merchant and give it to them. Either action results in experience and possibly favorism by the village towards the main hero.

In each town is a "fast travel" magic portal. Without giving away too much, you should activate these once you find them. Between town paths do not have one, only towns do. Make sure to search a whole town to find one in each town. I would only use these portals if you want to rush. I recommend NOT using them, unless you have to, because you need to level up to higher levels and collect loot dropped by enemies on the paths between towns.

One thing to watch out for if your character(s) die, there is only one way to bring them back with a item called "Life Water". Be aware there are very few of these in the game, so dying is not the best of circumstances. Save them for major battles if you want to bring your companions back to life. Do not waste these. After a quest later in the game, it is also possible to make them, but that is very late game.

When certain named NPC's join you, be aware it won't be permanent. A town may require a guard, a magi, or some other npc to help the town. Your party members might be used to help the town in need. For example, the quest "NEW CAPTAIN" requires a warrior type party member to become a new captain for that particular town. Be aware that party members will not be permanent.
The Mouse Pointer Bug and the Ending Movie Bug
Many posts on the forum mention this particular bug. I found a way to bypass it possibly, at least for people playing the game on windows 10 64 bit.

First off, alt-tabbing can cause this issue..when you do it..so Don't do it in this game! If you have to do it for this game, when you re alt-tab back into the game, frantically click on both mouse buttons and it should force the pointer to re-appear in the game, even if it does not show up on the menu if you used that to pause the game. Trust me, it is there and this method works. If it does not, i am sorry, there is nothing else i can suggest fixing this except emailing their website found in the english manual. If you don't know how to access the english manual, i will post how to find it next.

The official English website for this game is found here:

http://www.1cpublishing.com/game/konung-3-ties-of-the-dynasty

If anyone has issues, there is a support section that you could email about the mouse pointer. I suggest emailing your system specs with it..good luck!

Also, the second bug mentioned is the Ending movie bug. Basically, you won't be able to see the ending movie. In order to see it, you might need to install a external video player. I suggest trying VLC, as it is free, even for windows 10, and it makes the movie able to be seen. In order to see the movie in the game, you need to associate the movie file with VLC, so go to where the movie file is. If your in steam, right click the game in your library, click properties, click tab local files, then click browse local files. There will be a file located there called "winw.ong". You need to play it with VLC, which is a video software. When you view it once, and associate it with the VLC program, it will play in the game. Enjoy!

Original Ending bug mentioned here:

It is there, hidden in the local files on the pc. First, right click the game in your library. Click on properties. Then click on "local files" tab on the top. After you do this, click on "browse local files". This will bring up a list of programs with 1,2,3, etc numbers...Now look for the Manual.pdf..yes it is a pdf, so make sure you got adobe reader or some other pdf free program that loads them. Load it up and guess what? That is the english manual for the game! Hope this helps us english players
It takes a village..
At some point in the game, you will come across quests that allow you to own a village, or villages. So how do you protect it from bandits and such and run it fair?

#1. Allocate the amount for it..tribute (tax rate). By having a low tax rate, more villagers will be happier with your village than a high tax rate. You can also allocate some of the tribute towards money for buying weapons for the guards. It is recommened you give the full amount. If you really need money in this game, just sell random armours and such you find scattered around on enemies on maps by walking back and forth to towns. Even though there is a fast move portal in each town, i recommend walking as you can level up and get more items this way.

#2. Check the guards equips. You can now transfer weapons and such to each guard. Make sure to check each one's status and strengths. For example, if one is very agile, give them a bow. If strength is their strong suit, try giving them a 2 handed weapon or a club. Just make sure you check their weapon proficiencies in their status. You can check by clicking their portrait, or talk to them and it shows it when you check their weapons. You can transfer weapons this way too by clicking your portrait and dragging a weapon on top of their portrait.

#3. Guard Routines and amount of guards. You can increase guards activities by having them act as sentry or do a patrol around the village. These both help protect the village. Also, you can change the captain of the guards as the current captain might be weaker than another NPC guard.

#4. Hiring mercs. Outside the village you may find a hireable mercenary wondering around on the roads outside of villages, or in a village itself. They may charge different amount of gold to hire, or require you to finish a quest for them, but they will increase your force inside the villages. Also, check their stats, they might be stronger than the current captain of your village. NOTE: these will be in your party. Be aware that they will act like party members till you either decide to appoint a captain in a town, or make them a guard. All party members are temporary except the main character.

I hope these tips help you run a great village and good luck!
Making a party and sacrificing them for the good of a town
As i previous stated before, you will gain villages that you can control later in the game. These may require you to sacrifice your party members in order to obtain them, or make them have guards, healers, magis, etc.

*So how do you obtain party members?

There in most towns. Most of them have a proper name on the mini map. Either they require you to do a quest for them to recruit them, or pay them money to obtain. There are also temporary NPC's that join your party, but these ones do not tend to fight. These are usually the blacksmith's apprentice, healing apprentice, or carriers. They are meant to be on temporary and non-fighting npc's.

*So these party members are not permanent?

Nope. A town may require a guard, a captain, or some other member. While the healer and blacksmith apprenticeship npc's do not fight while in your party, regular members do. These members must be sacrificed to towns in order to obtain them or to strengthen them. Be aware of this in the long run!
Alchemy and Potion making
Hello friends! Welcome to the wolrd of Alchemy! In this section, the art of making potions will tried to be explained and a recipe list will follow on all postion i know.

*So what is required to make a potion?

You need a empty flask which can be found either by using a healing balm bought from a healer or dropped by enemies, and an ingredient. The ingredients can be found several ways. It can be found on the ground on any map by holding down "ALT" which lets you search the ground. They can be found in healer shops. They can even be found in taverns, if it is a food item. Another place to find good ingredients are in big towns. You also require a recipe that is usually sold in most stores around the world. With this list, you might be able to save some money without buying them and using this guide instead!

*How do i make a potion?

Press (I) and it opens the inventory screen. See the box on the top right that is a large box to where you equip items? In order to make a alchemy potion, just put a empty flask there and add a inventory item to it, and there you go!

*Mixtures and potions versus Decoctions: What is the difference?

A potion is the easy alchemy recipe to make. You just pop the item into a empty flask and boom..you got your potion.

A mixture solution is same as a potion, except you use it for a more complex potion. Think of it as a base for a more complex mixing of a potion. There not usually used for anything except to make a more powerful potion. NOTE: a mixture does not require a burner.

A decoction uses a mixture solution to make very strong potions. There is a special item required to make decoctions called a "BURNER". This item is required in the player's inventory that is making the decoctions. A burner can usually be bought in most large towns, or even a healer store sometimes. Note that the burner must be in the inventory of the player making the decoction, and has to be used like a ingredient on the potion maker box in the inventory. You must use put the solution on the potion maker first, then use the burner on it.

A complex potion requires additional mixture of either a solution and a decoction or mixing up something with a inventory item. As the title says, they are extremely complex.

A rare potion requires extremely rare ingredients. These are only usually found using a treasure map on a area or buying at specific stores in a big town.

*What about concentration of the potions?

The concentration increases how well the potion works. The stronger it is, the more you can use it, or the effect is much greater. For example, adding more of the same item in a potion like the healing balm will increase how many times you can use it. Also, there is a skill under "GENERAL" tab called "POTION MIXING". The higher the skill level, the more concentrated the character making the potions can make them more powerful. NOTE: This method can also be used with mixtures and decoctions.

*Can the potions fail?

Yes. If you do not make them correctly, they make a hazardous brew. Whatever you do, do not drink it!

*What did you do with poisons and oils?

You can put them on weapons to make them set enemies on fire or poison enemies. They are usually temporary effects you can put on any weapon. To put onto a weapon, place the weapon in the inventory on the potion mixer box. Then use the poison or oil. Oil is mainly used on arrows also, so be aware of this. They make fire arrows. Concenctration can make the weapons lose their poison and oil after awhile, so higher the concentration, the longer you can poison enemies and set them on fire.

Yea, i think they maybe of outsourced the game or something with a different developer too.
Klarka 6 Sep, 2023 @ 2:30pm
A on keyboard to make sellect characters attack nearby enemies (shift + a to select all characters).
This feature was in the previous game but on a screen button and i thought they removed it.
Now i learnt about it, just before finishing the game, at the very last quest ( i think but for sure..)

I was complaining about it so much... i think thinking this game is sooooo worse than the previous because they removed it. i was complaining so much... i would have enjoyed the game so much better.. i lost so much enojyment... ach jo..

@Bijat..there is a limit on what i can write on steam. I actually tried to expand on this guide before, but the limit on what you can write seems to prevent me from adding much more. Sadly, it is a steam guide thing..

As for your question...i am not sure. You can experiement and see what happens. I just left the gear on all my guards. I did take some in my party to level them up a bit, except my main and favorite characters because sometimes when you leave a party member in a town, they will not rejoin your main party.
Bijat 18 Nov, 2019 @ 1:34pm
One thing that woud make this guide a little better woud maby be abit more info on towns and whats smart to do, when do they pay tribute when do they buy new gear etc? once a day? So if i set tax on medium set it to buy gear for evryone and then remove all gear from evry guard will all guards have updated gear the next day :p? Money don´t seem to be a problem tho.
