It's a good plane, but a P-51 or P-47 fits the Bf-109 and Yak-9 better in my opinion. Probably cuz of the looks.

The P-38 was a great fighter but I can see why people would want something like a Mustang or Thunderbolt.

Also, the P-38 is a perfectly capable plane.
