Intro

This is a guide for everyone who are looking for the five hidden components required to reach the true final area and the good ending of Dashbored.

The game is split into three days, with each of them having 1-2 components to collect before the end of the day. If you've missed any components after completing a day, it is not possible to obtain them afterwards. This guide will also mention the last chances to grab each component.

This guide includes spoilers for the areas the components are in, plus the hidden backstory in the minigame 'Precipice'. Read at your own risk!
Day 1
First component

The first component is hidden in Roke at the beginning of the game. It is the easiest to obtain when the Mayor of Coton sends you to Roke to obtain a fish for him.

Description
Once in Roke, head to the right, and go past the alleyway with the television head. Once you're in the area with the industrial buildings, head to the alleyway between the Doda Soda company building and the tea company building.
The first component is hidden behind the tea company's neon sign.
This component should be collected before you enter the orphanage in Ovok, but you'll have one last chance to get it after you return from the trip to the desert.
Day 2 - First half
The second day has two components to collect, with the first of them being unobtainable after halfway to the day.

Second component

The second component is available after you get to choose between Jack and Midori at M&J's.

This component has to be collected before you enter Coton's metro station!


Location
Description
After picking either Midori or Jack, head to the illegal fighting ring behind the bar at M&J's town.
The blue component is hidden on a poster on the right side of the fighting ring.
Day 2 - Second half
Third component

The third component is found at Roke's water treatment plant after Isaac joins your party.

This component has to be collected before you obtain the diving suit!

Location
Description
Once you're past the fingerprint scanner, head to the center area. Go to the right, walk through the hallway, and go up.
Walk to the right from the locked room.
The third component is on a pipe next to the NPC.
Day 3 - First half
Day 3 has two components to collect, with the first one of them being unabtainable halfway into the day.

Fourth component

This component has to be collected before you start up your car.

Description
The fourth component is on the wall of the inn at the start of the day.
Day 3 - Second half
Fifth component

The fifth and the very last component of the game.

You have to collect this component before you unlock the door to the lair.

Location
Description
Head to the door in the mirror world.
Go to the end of the hallway, and enter the pool room on the right. Enter the mirror.
Once in the reverse mirror room, go to the beginning of the hallway, and enter the dining room on the left. The component is on the wall with the eyes. The location of the component is circled on the screenshot.
All Five Collected
Once you've collected all the five components, you have to defeat the final boss of the mansion. After the battle, a cutscene will occur which unlocks the true final area of the game.
PRECIPICE - Backstory behind the Components
This chapter of the guide contains spoilers for the minigame 'Precipice', and the backstory for Dashbored itself

On the third day, you're given a chance to play Precipice on the game console at M&J's.


Precipice is about the gods Temprocal and Damicelle. You have to press 'A' for the story, but the 'A' doesn't refer to the key on your keyboard. The 'A' itself is hidden in the minigame, and you have to dig into it to find it.

Description
The trickiest part of the hunt for the 'A'. Around the right side of the first room are walls where you have to find the right part to nudge yourself into so you can walk outside the boundaries of the room.
It takes some wandering around the outside of the map to reach the hidden gigantic 'A'. It should be located somewhere around the upper right of the area. If you happen to drop back to the 'inside' of the map, just nudge your way back outside of it. Press 'X' after you've located the giant 'A' (as seen on the screenshot).

Just going to state that this ending is no longer achievable after some updates and the components were likely replaced with the memories for the true ending. So don't bother trying to get this ending!

英語は上手く使えないので日本語で書きます。

1日目、M&Jの家の隣のＰＣのある小屋でパスワードを入力することでコンポーネントが出現するようになるようです。
パスワードはメモリーを4個取得したエンディングの最後に表示されます。
パスワードを入力すると赤フードの男が出て行き、箱が設置されて各コンポーネントのヒントになる紙が手に入ります。

ちなみに、パスワードは ENCOUNTER

I have the doll, pumpkin key,band have answered 1 quiz question and still can't see the component

The alleyway in day 1 has no component and looks different for me as well. Was it changed in a recent update perhaps?

I collected the doll, the pumpkin key in Ovok and answered 1 question in the quiz already if that those have triggers that impact this.
