I have a budget build computer that I built 5 years ago. It got upgraded a few times, slap a sapphire r9 200 into a pci-e 2 slot and running an unimpressive 8 gigs of ram and an i5 processor. The only really redeeming quality my pc has is that I put in a SSD.

I don't have lag or frame issues in-game while I still listening to music through vlc. I can see that they may not have tested it with a variety of hardware sets and that there might be issues with specific gfx cards or etc; but it really isn't all that demanding of a game as far as resources. Do updates, use some of the work-arounds.

Finally one thing I did notice as a result of people's complaints was I did turn on FPS overlay through steam just to see how I was doing. I actually noticed a hit in performance with that on which boggles my mind but it is what it is. It also caused some strange flashing when talking to a galatic trade keiosk thingy. So try turning off fps overlay?

because people with monster pcs do not bother to set their options to max out everything. this is the first thing i did and the game still ran like shit.

After changing those settings i am getting over +100Fps with everything maxed on my modest i-5 2500k @3.200Mhz, 8Gb RAM and my new GTX 1070!
