General things
You should try to refuel as much as you need for the ramaining laps. It doesnt help anything, if your car has already 50% fuel left at finish. At start i recommend to always start with a full fueled car.

Also always watch the weather and other cars and adjust your strategy to it. If weather prediction says rain and you pit like normal and get soft tires and you have to pit 1 lap later again to change to rain tires, your losing lots of time for the additional pit stop.

To adjust your strategy i recommend using a boost ecu. with this boost ecu you can switch between fast laps or fuel safing. Also i recommend using overload. You should try to drive as fast as possilbe without getting out of fuel for your planned strategy. So check out your fuel consumption of your car. Fuel consumption can vary extremely from car and setup and ecu. with ecu and overload you need about 2/3 more fuel per lap as without them (depending also on ecu).

Tailing AI cars is mostly a bad thing, as they are always block, even if you dont try to overtake. this blocking makes the lap times slower and cars behind you, try by themself to overtake you.

But strategy also depinding at your driving style and your car. If you just have started the career, it may be that the 1 pit strategys are faster, as your pit crew is relatively slow.

explanation
if i write a pit strategy like

4h - 3s - 3s

there stand the number for the number of laps per turn.

h/s stands for hard tires or soft tires

- stands for a pit stop

so in this case i mean you should take hard tires at start, change at lap 4 to soft tires and do another pit stop at lap 7 again with soft tires.

Pros/Cons
comment
4s - 4s - 4s
+ fastest lap times
- 2 pit stops
good default strategy, most of the bots use the same
6h - 6h
+ 1 pit stop
- no fastest laps/sector times
7h - 5s
5s - 7h
+ 1 pit stop
+ fastest laps/sector times
- slow last lap
- 7 rounds could get critical with fuel
With this you can get fastest lap/sector but lose a some time, because of fuel safing at stint with hard tires and bad tires at last lap on soft tires.
8h - 4s
4s - 8h
+ 1 pit stop
+ fastest laps/sector times
- first turn very critical with fuel
This is one step extreme than the previous mention 7h - 5s strategy. To drive this setup you have to install the right parts of the game and not every car can do this.
5s - 4s -3s
4s - 5s - 3s
- 2 pit stops
- lap 5 slow
+ fastest sectors/laps
With this strategy you lose at lap 5 some time. Therefore you can hunt in your 2nd and 3rd time the best sector times, as your opponents should have done their best sectors 1 lap earlier. disadvantage, you lose some times at your stint with 5 laps
6s - 6h
6h - 6s
+ 1 pit stop
+ no fastest laps/sector times
- bad tires at your long turn with 6 soft laps
Cant recommend this strategy. Your losing much time at lap 5 + 6 with your soft tires. Try to use 7h - 5s or 8h-4s instead, if you want to try to get fastest sector/lap time. Use hard tires only, if you are try to get best pit crew and fuel safing medal.
3s - xxx
- you get in traffic after first pit
+ fastest lap times
Cant recommend to start with 3 laps strint. You get stuck in traffic after your first pit. Also soft tires should last 4 laps at Rudskogen/Circuit deLa Luna .

4s/h - 3s - 3s
+ fastest lap times
- 2 pit stops
good default strategy, most of the bots use the same. Using hard tires at start is theoretically faster, if you get a clean track, but with soft tires you can overtake the bots more easily.
5h - 5h
+ 1 pit stop
- no fastest lap times
This is an alternate 1 pit stop strategy
3s - 4h - 3s
- you can get in traffic after first pit
+ fastest sector/lap times
+ easier with fuel consumption
- 2 stops
This strategy is a nice variant of the 1st strategy mentioned. As you need a bit less fuel at you outlaps of pit in comparison to the 1st lap after start, this could make a difference, as you can go full speed all the time. But the disadvantage is that you can get in traffice after your first lap and lose this time again because of traffic
6h - 4s
4s - 6h
7h - 3s
+ 1 pit stop
+ fastest lap times
This strategy needs a fuel safing car setup. You can drive fastest lap times and save one pit stop
4s/h - 4s/h - 2s
4s/h - 4s/h - 2s
+ fastest lap times
- 2 pit stop
4 + 2 laps is always slower as than 2 times 3 laps with soft tires. So you should prefer a pti stratege like 4-3s-3s.
5s - xxx
+ fastest lap times
+ 1 pit stop
- lose much time at lap 4 and even more at lap 5 with soft tires
cant recommend to drive 5 laps with softs, as you lose lot of time in 4th and 5th lap with your soft tires.
5h - 3s - 2s
- 2 pit stop
+ fastest lap times
Cant recommend this. Your losing a lot of time, because you have to fuel safe the first 5 laps. The last 2 lap turn is a bit short for worth the additional pit stop

4h - 4h
+ 1 pit stop
- just hard tires
this strategy is nice, becauseyou need just one pit stop. This track has a very long pit lane.
3h/s - 3h/s -2s
- 2 pit stop
+ fastest lap and sector
Well, with 3 rounds its very dificult to tell, which tires are best. The soft tires gets slow at the end of 2nd round, but until then you are faster. With this strategy you can power your car, while with 4-4 its mostly fuel safing. If your start from way behind, i would say, that you should take soft tires, to overtake a lot of cars in the first 2 laps.
5h - 3s
+ 1 pit stop
+ fastest laps
- lots of fuel safing the first 5 rounds.
This strategy connects just 1 pit stop with fastest laps. Problem is, that you have to fuel safe, to achieve the 5 laps.
4s - 4h
4s - 4h
4s - 4s
+ 1 pit stop
- fastest laps sector
cant recommend this. Your losing in round 3 and 4 with soft tires a lot of time.
4h - 2s - 2s
2s - 4h - 2s
- 2 pit stop
+ fastest laps
i also cant recommend two stints of 2 laps. Two turns of 3 laps should be faster than 1 turn with 4 laps and 1 turn with 2 laps. also 1 stint with 4 laps at hard is also faster than 2 stints with soft tires.

Here in this section i dont write with this numbers, as it would get to much variations

Soft tires gets slow at lap 8 and its getting worser with every further lap

There are 2 main strategy:

a) just 1 pit stop

This strategy is fuel safing. You have to take hard tires for both turns. Your safing a lot of time with just 1 pit stop

b) 2 pit stops

with this strategy you can push a lot, but you get often stuck in traffic. i prefer 9s - 9s - 10h or sth similar. But there is at the moment a discussion which tyres (soft/hard) are better with 9 and 10 laps.

with soft tires you can drive your first few laps faster, espacially with the Shroud

Excellent write up, I've been using this to test my car which strategy works best.

With the Oval, using the Shroud, I usually go 11H - 11H - 6S
Long runs with hard give you distance, especially with drafting to save fuel
Switch to softs at the end to give you speed for sector/lap times
