"In case anyone was wondering what counter-strike looked like when I first played the game... it was counter-strike beta 5.0 back in 1999... this was like 4 years before steam even existed... we used to play this half-life mod on the WON servers (World Opponent Network)... before valve bought the company, shutdown their servers and FORCED! everyone to use Valves new app called steam. They also made it so you had to play cs 1.6 which was a lot like 1.5 but had these retarted riot shields which ruined the game. The stupid thing crashed all the time too... and yes I played on dial-up internet with like 200-300 ping."
