This is a well made map/Destination, but there are some bugs I'd like to point out. I also have some suggestions.
Bugs:
- White line in face upon map load (this is the fadein from when you wake up in Portal 2)
- Music is broken (it seems to loop the first few seconds)
- No way to get to the "ruined" room
Suggestions:
- Add in a vr_teleport_area entity (it's made with the polygon tool, look up the destinations dev wiki)
- Remove the music entirely
- Add in a way to get to the "ruined" room (maybe click on/use the painting?)
Wait, by "paste a room over", do you mean copy-pasting from Source 1 Hammer Editor into Source 2/Destinations' Hammer Editor?
Obviously, models wouldn't work, unless they were already ported over, same with textures. But, if I make some brushes in Hammer 1, and paste it over to Hammer 2, everything will work? Is that somewhat of what you did?
@RED-FROG I will one day. Taxes are kinda high here so its a bit difficult 😞
The problem is I haven't edited it to fit vr. it's the original map from the portal 2. Just done lighting + bug fixes and some porting. I'll keep working on it though, thanks for the advice
With a Vive you'd quickly find out that objects in this map are off scale. The bed appears to be too short while the chair and door too big. Same with lamps and phone. But that adds some charming cartoony look to it.
