note
This guide isn't complete, I haven't encountered all of the events to be sure so bear with me. I will divide this guide into different type of events such traders, xenos, etc. I hope you find guide useful. Any info you can give about events would be great.
Traders
I've only encountered two types of traders, caravan and station. Both can be threatened.

The first is stations, stations offer ships for a certain amount of RUs, they offer different classes of ships and you can only get one of that class. Make sure you read what sub-class it is before you buy it, no refunds.

The second is caravans. They're like stations but they offer technology instead and an asteroid is floating by so you can harvest that. When you buy that tech you don't get it, you have research it after, so make sure you plenty of RUs. Once you buy all the tech, they have nothing left to give. The only limit is how many RUs you want to spend.
Xenos
Xenos. Their origon is unkown but their purpose is clear, the extinction of the human race. When you attack one ship, reinforcements are called in, lots of em. So unless you have a reason to fight, get out of there as quickly as you can. And don't bother destroying them to collect RUs, they leave nothing salvagable.

Ambush

An event that needs no introduction. As soon as scanning is complete, you're warned that the xenos have set up an ambush. They'll be coming at you in all directions so you best have a good defense. It's not recommended that you go on offense, not only will it take longer for the fighters to get to the nearest hanger, but it's that more likely that you lose a ship, regardless of what type they are.

Xenos ship in asteroid

This is probably one of, if not, the rarest event. That said, be sure you have enough ships and RUs because when you engage, reinforcements are that of an ambush. But the reward is worth it, after defeating all the xenos, ship recovery begins. You'll receive a recovered xenos battleship and recovered xenos carrier which can make xenos fighter and bombers. And (spoiler alert) you'll also ulock the hybrid fleet.

Pre-war repair station

You find a space station built within the asteroid, your ai tells you that an unfinished capital ship is still in the hanger. You can either just strip the place or finish the ship. Finishing the construction will attract the xenos so be ready. After about 2 and a half minutes, you'll recieve a capital/supercapital ship.

pre-war station

Ahead of lies an abandoned station but its defences are still active. After destroying the defences, your ai tells you this stations the coordinates to the last known human built fleet, you can either strip the station or download the data. Downloading the data will require activating the station, which will also attract the xenos, you'll need to fend them off for about 3 minutes. As soon as the data is downloaded and after jumping out of there, you're immmediatly taken to their last known loccation and all you find are ruins of some of the lost fleet. Afterward you unlock the lost fleet and gain over 20 thousend RUs. Don't worry, your still in the same sector
Pirates
There are always those who disagree or have to resort to less than savory jobs to get by. Pirates are no different.

Caravan under attack A

After scanning, you'll find that pirates are raiding unarmed traders. You then have an incoming transmission from the pirates saying they'll give you some of the RUs they collect if you leave them alone, Saying no will prompt a fight. After destoying their carrier and the last of their fighters, the caravan warps out without a word. I've only encountered this once so I'm not completly sure.

Caravan under attack B

Same kind of deal except you immediatly decide to fight off the pirates. After doing so, the caravan messages you saying they'll transfer some RUs for saving them.

Asteriod field

You find an RU rich asteroid field being guarded by pirates, saying it's theirs. They message you, giving you three options. 1. Be truthful and leave the field alone 2. Lie and prepare to fight 3. Immediatly fight the pirates.

I only recommend option one if your low on ships and RUs

Toll

After jumpig into the system, a pirate ship hails you. They'll let you go free if you pay them the requested RUs or you can fight the pirates.

Human Carrier Under Attack

You jump in finding that a human carrier and interceptors are fighting off pirates. After destroying all the pirates, the carrier contacts you, thanks you and joins your fleet, along with any remaing interceptors.
Gendarih Empire
A empire that is looking to expand its boarders and is not above the use of violence.

toll

Like the pirates, they won't attack if you give them a 'small' fee (yeah right!) of RUs. I don't recommend saying yes because they demad pretty high amounts or RUs.

asteroid field

You start at a mineral rich asteroid field all by yourself. A minute or so later, a Gendarih ship jumps in and claims the resources for themselves. You can either split the resources 50/50, not including the ones you collected, or you fight them for all the resources.

fight

After scanning, a Gendarih ship hails you and demands you turn in your ships for inspection. You don't have time for this so you decide to fight.
misc
a section where none of the events correspond with each other or any other category.

Space ship graveyard.

You find an enormous amount of destroyed space ships nearby. Signs of battle present.Be careful as the defenses on some of the ships are still active. However, they work best against the larger ships; fighters and bombers can slip by no problem. Have the bombers take out all the turrets and you'll get quite a bit of RUs

Asteroid

After warping you find a giant asteroid with engines attached heading towards your fleet. It will immediately destroy anything it crashes into and is heading towards the mothership. Take it out if you want to continue your journey.

I'm going to be honest here, this is my first official guide. I have some experience in writting infromental papers/guides (mostly school). Anyway thank you for reading and good luck out there, only the tough survive in the galaxy.

there is an event where there is an asteriod with engines. it tries to fly into your fleet and will instantly destroy whatever it hits. you have to destroy it before it hits your capital ship

A correction on the caravans and stations:
You can get more than one of anything from them. On top of the screen after making a deal with them, you'll see "[Trade]" and clicking that will allow you to buy more from them. Your only limit is how many RUs you want or have to spend.

So far as I can tell though, with caravans, once you buy all the tech, there isn't anymore to get. I'm not sure yet if there's repurcussions for threatening them though.

Thanks for the guide! Found one not on here: Derelict spaceships with tough active defenses, has a large amount of useful resources around them
