I'm not saying your strategy is bad. I'm just stating that I'm surprised that you did not use some other tower/heroes that can work better.

I played as always on Veteran:) I needed some tries until i found the best tower placement but as you can see it worked fine with cronan. Thats the best in kingdom rush, not only one strategy can work:)

Of course cronan's whip is buffed in steam version to the point where it will halve the hp of blacksurge in easy mode.

You might want to try lv 10 alric for the final stage of this expansion.
