Descriere
1:1 replica of the Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Class ship HMS Warspite in her 1942 camouflage.

She has her historical armour layout and all guns have correct rates of fire and bore diameters. This was initially created for the Dangerous Waters campaign so it is somewhat lacking in repair bots etc, and she has at most 3 metal blocks thick of protection (not including alloy beams). The guns also have various range limits on them.

Unfortunately the design doesn't play well with FtD's physics and as such I had to add active stabilisation measures as it is very top-heavy thanks to the massive superstructure. Max speed is 7.5m/s in Neter.

DETECTION UPDATE: Warspite has received the following equipment
- Passive radar, sonar and wireless detection
- Active radar and sonar (To simulate the relative inaccuracy of equipment at the time, no tracker units are used)
- Wireless set
- 90 degree cameras (To simulate crewmen with binoculars)
- Lots and lots and lots of coincidence rangefinders

All equipment is in historical positions - or at least they're in a position where some sort of equipment was on the real ship (Exception is sonar which is just slapped onto the botton). Rangefinder turrets should turn to track targets, but they seem very temperamental.

Detection Update part 2: Spares and misc storage crates removed, replaced with the old scrap containers as these are 2 blocks long and so halves the number of crates. Replaced some blocks with the new 2m and 3m beams - It's too tedious to go over the whole ship and update with these blocks but I'll continue to add them if I see somewhere they fit.

Detection Update part 3: Changed the weapon slot assignments, so the rangefinder turrets can now be manually forced to face a target. I also adjusted the bow curve as it was too high out of the water before.

Weapon slots are as follows:
1: Rangefinder turrets
2: 2pdr Pom-Poms
3: 6in guns
4: 4in guns
5: 15in main guns

Could you make a "futuristic"buffed version with updated gear?
Chieftain 25 sept. 2016 la 8:26
true you do make a good point but its still not as good as yours nore is it as reallistic as yours i mean you even got the camo!! and i will have to check to see if the DW clames have a specific date they want the ship from

@Chieftain: QE and Warspite were actually quite different during WWII (most notably QE's 6in casemates were removed and dual-purpose turrets installed instead), so there's still reason to upload it! Even if they were identical I'd still say it's worth uploading to show off your handiwork :)

As for the ship being stolen, there was a guy who claimed that I had taken his Warspite and simply re-uploaded it, afaik you can't 'steal' claims to ships for DW.
Chieftain 24 sept. 2016 la 15:30
And pandoras kitten you said that the ship was "stolen" would that be from the author stealing the clame??
Chieftain 24 sept. 2016 la 15:25
Im a little ticked tbh I clamed the Quean Elisabeth BB for DW and have the ship compleated but just not uploaded Granted I compleated it a wile ago but since then ive been reworking it because of the AI, Block, and Detection update wich has taken some time. but DAM GJ your putting me to shame :steamsad:

Which AA guns are you talking about? The 40mm ones have a tendency to shoot the lifeboats despite them having a failsafe. Their firing contraints prevent them from aiming near the funnel, but allow them to aim at the lifeboats because I figured it's more useful to have them fire over the lifeboats (which they will do), and just accept the occasional damage.

However if you want to fiddle with them the LWC is directly beneath the turret block.

err, small issue, the AA turrets have neither restricted Traverse, or a failsafe ( and im unsure of teh locations of teh weaon contorlls to add them) >.>
