Intro
Firstly this guide is on about being summoned, Not Summoning. Many areas of the game have a low amount of summon signs. This is could be for many reasons.

Reason Number 1.
The area is not worth the trouble of the phantom. e.e Earthen Peak Lowermost Bonfire.
Areas like this are a hassle for phantoms, Many host will die on the way to the boss because the level is very long or the level has many hazards that the phantom cannot control.

In most cases most of the summon signs in areas like this will be located at the boss fog wall.

Reason Number 2.
The host is Incapable to defend against the boss. i.e Fume Knight, Smelter Demon 2.0, Sir Alonne.
These are very good hotspots to put down your Summon Signs for Maximum summons, however there is a trade offs as well. Many host will fail to defeat the boss no matter how hard you try.

Reason Number 3.
The Area is a low traffic section of the game. i.e the gutter.
These areas will never net summons because the host will need to refill estus and repair items before the boss, or no players see the need to summon a phantom for the level.

Now moving on to the guide on max summons per hour and being successful in defeating the bosses.
Low Teir Summoning SM 0-750k
This section is for getting summoned at a soul memory of about 50k-750k.

The Last Giant SM 0-50k The easiest boss in the game, Also the first boss in the game.

To get summoned for this fight place your sign at Cardinal Tower Bonfire.
You will have a 50/50 Shot of fighting this boss or The Pursuer.
If you want to have a better chance of fighting this boss place sign outside of fog wall. Although the abundance of npcs and other player will greatly reduce your chances.

The Pursuer SM 0-100k The First "Hard Boss" Your first true taste of dark souls 2

To Get Summoned for this boss place your sign at Cardinal Tower Bonfire.
You will have a 50/50 Shot of fighting this boss or The Last Giant.
For the best chance of defeating this boss learn how to parry his attacks.
It is recommend to use the red eye ring to focus his attacks on you and not the host.
Bait him into the path of the ballista's for the host.

Tower of Flame Dragonrider SM 0-250k The Cheese Boss/Slippery Edges

Bonfire. Tower Of Flame
If you get summoned for this fight there has been a mistake.
50/50 Shot of fighting this boss or The Old Dragonslayer

The Old Dragonslayer SM 0-250k Most Nostalgic Boss

To get summoned Place sign at first bonfire in the tower of flame.
Getting to this boss is more a pain then fighting him, use a mace or any striking weapon for a easy kill.

Flexile Sentry SM 50k-300k

You will probably not get summoned for this fight
Place sign outside of fog wall for best chance.
When Fighting use the pillar in the room to keep this boss at bay while stamina recharges.
It's better to fight his club side then the sword side as the clubs have a 3 hit combo the swords have a 4 hit and will blow you across the room.

Ruin Sentinels SM 100k-500k
Bonfire, McDuffs Workshop

This is a great fight to farm for tokens or medals because after you clear this area you can buy the agape ring from straid and stay in the soul memory range for this easy boss.

Kill the first sentinel that is on the ledge.
Let the next jump up and repeat, OR jump down and split the attention between both you and the host finish yours off quick and help the host.

The Lost Sinner SM 100k-500k
Bonfire, The Saltfort

The First Lord Soul, This is a very easy boss
Place your sign at the bonfire for best results
In this fight you may want to use the red eye ring especially if your host is a mage.
Roll through her attacks and stab in the back.

Belfry Gargoyles SM 50k-500k
Bonfire Servants Quarters , Lost Bastille

To get summoned for this boss you must go into belfry Luna.
Place sign near the bell keeper for best results.

This is a amazing spot to be summoned, it is kind of a hidden gem
You can be summoned and at the same time farm titanite chunks from pvp within the bell keepers covenant.

Not many people put their signs down here so you will almost always get summoned here.

The boss is standard maybe use red eye ring if host cant handle the aggro.

This has been the low tier summoning section of this guide
Mid Teir Summoning SM 500k-1.5 Million
This Section of the guide is for the majority of players.
In the mid teir range you can be summoned for nearly every boss in the game on NG.
This section covers only a fraction of the bosses that are available to battle. I've added the bosses that I have had the most success with getting summoned consistently.

The Rotten SM-500k-1million
Bonfire, Black Gulch, Any bonfire prefer the first one as most will miss the secret one

This is a great boss to get summoned for it is easy to kill and fast. The host can hide in the corner while you wipe the floor with this monster.

Use the Leo Ring and a thrusting Sword with the red eye ring to absolutely decimate this bosses health, he has a huge counter attack period and his attacks are pathetic roll into every attack he does and roll away when you see the AOE Charge. POKE,POKE,POKE... ROLL And REPEAT.

Smelter Demon 1.0 SM 500k-750k
Bonfire, Iron Keep, The Bridge

This boss is in my personal top 5 bosses to Coop on.
Dont say you hate me but I love seeing people get pancaked by this guy.

This boss will net you about 5-10 sunlight metals or tokens in a hour if you can kill him before he kills the host with one flaming swipe.

Put on red eye ring and bait his attacks if possible get a very spammy weapon and put poison on it. Pyromancy poison mist works too he will drop to about 2/3 health without having to get close to him. When he buffs he sword take the offence roll under the left and right sweeps attack if he jumps roll and wait for AOE. If he does the overhead wait until the last second and roll out of the way of the projectile.

This Is For All You Amazing Wizards Out There(yes i called you Spell Casters wizards fight me about it)

The Old Iron King SM 500k-1million
Bonfire, Eygil's idol,Iron Keep

This a a hot spot for mages if you want easy tokens or medals.
Walk into boss area wait select soul spear and SPAM. SPAM just like you do in pvp not just soul spear dark orb and every soul arrow you have.

Put on havels gear who said it was for pvp only?? Spam through his fire breath you are the true diablo not this imposter. HAHAHA.HAHAHA DIE. DIE. DIEEEEEE. You say in Cicero's voice as you cast your 50th soul spear while doing the Have Mercy gesture to a NPC.

Velstadt, The Royal Aegis SM 1 million - 2million
Bonfire, Undead Ditch, Undead Crypt

This is a okay boss to get summoned for its kind of rare and a hassle to get to but he's pretty much a smashy version of the old dragonslayer

Use the redeye ring to draw his attention its recommended to use resin or a buff here prefer lightning. Also you can parry some of his attacks making it a pretty easy to overwhelm him.

You get a good amount of souls for helping host with this boss just don't expect constant summoning.

Twin Dragonriders SM 1million-1.5million
Bonfire, Kings Gate,Drangleic Castle

30/70 Shot Of fighting this boss or The Defender and watcher along with Nashandra
Highest summon chance in the game in this area 10-15 medals or tokens per hour here at optimal Soul Memory

If you have to fight these guys you lucked out just get the first to half health when the bow version jumps down kill him fast and go back to helping the host with the halberd one.

Throne Watcher and Throne Defender,Nashandra SM 1 million-2millon

Bonfire, Kings Gate,Drangleic Castle
70/30 Shot Of fighting these bosses or the twin dragonriders

This will be the annoying part of farming Drangleic Castle for tokens or medals.
People suck at this boss fight so they summon 3 people making it even harder for themselves.

The watcher and defender are a easy kill the watcher first then the defender while he is trying to pick her up. The trouble comes when Nashandra arrives most host will try and attack with the phantoms but they should instead be focused on surviving the curse.

Take Nashandra out as fast as possible even if it means you get hit a couple of times as time is of the essence in this fight.

High Teir Summoning SM 1million to 4million
This section of the guide is for phantoms that desire a challenge. This is no longer a guide about how to get medals and tokens from this point on it's a guide about Pride and Skill.

The Bosses Listed in this section are not for farming and are not something to joke around with.
Players burn through every single human effigy the have fighting these monsters. If you place your summon sign down in these areas you should know.

1. It is your duty to give it your best to defeat the boss by any means even if it means your own death

2. To Understand every single attack pattern of the boss so you can take 100% of the Aggro and not get hit for as long as possible

3. To not toy with people during these fights don't go and heal the boss or run around them in circles, use a unupgraded dagger and do 5 damage. Like I said people use TONS of humanity just to have a shot at defeating the boss you shouldn't make it any harder for them

Smelter Demon 2.0 AKA The Blue Smelter Demon SM 1.5 million-3 Million
Bonfire, Iron Passage

You will get summoned quite often for this fight the path to the boss is better to run through instead of fighting because the large amount of spell casters will spam walk of peace and heal the ashen warriors

The Boss.
The boss has the exact same move set as the original version with the exception of a new attack i call it the bait. he will swing with his normal 1-2 combo but will pause before the second swing punishing those who get into a rhythm of rolling through his attacks.

This version also has a much larger enchantment on the sword sweeping attacks fill half of the room. Red Eye Ring is a must for this fight as many host even skilled ones will get hit by his attacks if they lose rhythm. If your host needs to heal spam estus even if you don't need to heal as to bait the boss into punishing you while the host heals.

Sir Alonne SM 1.5million-4million
Bonfire, Throne Room, Burme Tower

You must place you sign in the memory to be summoned.

I know I'm going to get hate for saying this but this is in my honest opinion the worst boss in the entire game maybe even the series. I don't give a rats behind how Honorabrul he is. This is a guy that needs to get ganked over and over and over again before I'm happy.

First you have to fight a entire army of Spammy Alonne Knights and Captains have fun getting ganked by 4 knights and a Bow Knight at the same time. don't even think about running through them as they have placed fire salamanders in spots just to slow you down enough to get you slashed 50 times.

when you finally get to the boss you should have about 5 estus left if your lucky but don't worry you wont be using them nor will the host as the boss himself is a even spammier version of the already bad alonne knights healing will just get you cut down like the tatami mats in this guys dojo.

You cant block and rolling lets you land a hit before he slides backwards at 100 mph and slashes you with another sliding thrust. you will want to be packing a halberd to even hit this guy.

Some people enjoy the fight its just not my cup of tea. On a scale of 1-10 Id rate this boss cancer.

Fume Knight SM 1million-3million
Bonfire, Lowermost Floor,Burme Tower

Fume Knight, Some people hate him others love him. Possibly the hardest boss in the game maybe not but is by no means easy even for good players.

This is where you will find my summon sign 90% of the time. This boss really is a host killer never have i seen a boss punish so many the way fume does.

Upon being summoned red eye ring is a must low weight is key for this entire fight you wont touch your shield so just take it off and 2 hand a weapon ring i recommend are life ring +3, ring of blades+2, flyns ring, agape ring, Chloranthy Ring, its all up to your play style.

In this fight if the host needs to heal use estus he will almost always target you giving the host vital seconds to heal. In his first mode be on the defense when he switches to flame mode go total offence. Keep him away from healing idols if the host hasn't gotten rid of them.

Host are always very thankful for the help and may even take the time to personally thank you.

I am certain that their should be more bosses in this section but these are the 3 i picked as i have the most experience with them and i would rather not give false information to you.

Frozen Eleum Loyce DLC Bosses SM 2 Million to 5 Million
This Section of the guide was made for the people asking about the DLC bosses that were not on the high tier summoning range.

Results may vary.

Seriously. These boss fights sometimes suck.
There are uncontrollable factors in being a phantom for these fights as it seems the dlc areas of the game are the hardest for people, Also very profitable for host so you need to have knowledge of the area to make things fast and painless.

Frozen Eleum Loyce

The DLC that has the hardest bosses for even the best of players.
Gestures: Point,I Wont Bite

If you are summoned and the host needs help getting the Eye Of the Priestess. Guide them through the level be careful not to aggro to many Rampart Soldiers or Rampart Spearman, They will shut you and the host down.

If you want to get summoned for the bosses it is your best bet to place your sign outside of fog walls in the entire Eleum Loyce DLC or you will be clearing the whole place for somebody with no reward unless you use the small sign this area is a easy way to get lots of smooth stones due to high enemy counts.

Aava, the King's Pet SM 2 million
Aava is a very hard boss to defeat. If you get summoned and don't see the Tiger on the ledge wave goodbye and black separation crystal. It is not worth your time.

This boss has very hard hitting attacks that can 3 shot most players.
Key to this boss is very hard hitting weapons. i like to run under the tiger with a Ultra Greatsword or Greathammer and attack once, wait for Aava to turn this is the animation for the leg swipe just roll through the attack and back under.

BE AWARE THIS BOSS WILL DESTROY YOUR WEAPONS Keep a eye on your durability as one greatsword will not last the whole fight you have to swap.

Also if you see the Homing Crystal soulmass and you cant get under aava or dodge it never block this attack let it hit you it will knock you to the ground letting the others pass through you, If you block this attack it will do 1500 HP Dmg to you no matter the shield it seems.

Lud and Zallen, the King's Pets SM 2-5 Million
Exactly the same as Aava but X2

Each tiger is weaker than Aava but if you get caught in a crossfire of attacks it is pretty much game over.

Finish off Lud as quickly as you can after Zallen joins the fight.

During Zallens berserk mode he will regenerate hp faster than you can confidently do damage.

If you kill Zallen first the remaining cat Lud will instead go enraged state when low on health learning a new jump attack and is considerably harder.

This is the one exception to the Eleum Loyce rule always place your summon sign at the coop statues at Frigid Outskirts its pretty often you will be summoned here but the fight is hard its a win loss unless your really good at fighting these cats.

Just make the host follow you to the right wall of Frigid Outskirts stay on it the whole way don't fight the deer that attack you will both need all your estus for the boss if the host cant follow you it is a safe assumption they have no idea what they are about to fight. I would most likely leave.

Burnt Ivory King SM 2-5 Million
Bonfire: Grand Cathedral
Place it near the bonfire for the best results.

Weakness: Lightning

If you get summoned and you drop into the old chaos and don't see The Hosts Loyce Knights
Leave its not worth your time.

Fight the Charred Loyce Knights until the boss comes out of hiding.
Put on the red eye ring so the host wont be overwhelmed.

Fight him like a mix of fume knight and Sir Alonne. A very easy boss to kill if you dodge very underwhelming boss in general he has low hp and reading his attacks is so easy its about equal with the last giant.

When he buffs just don't roll to early or late with 100 agi i never got hit once in this fight if you can time the rolls right.

If he goes after the host just spam estus, he doesn't like that.
Crown of the Sunken King DLC Bosses SM 1.5-7 Million
Sanctum. Pretty much only useful as a mine for petrified dragon bones and Twinkling Titanite.

This DLC Area is annoying to say the least.

It seems like a hot spot for crap pvp players to get their kicks.
Every time been in this area i get invaded by people that fat roll in havels gear, Hide behind enemies because you almost killed them. Shoot you with a bow until you get annoyed enough to kill them. The invaders are always at the town of prayer bonfire and to them i guess its hilarious to kill host right before the bonfire so they have to clear the whole area again.

There a tree you want to meet if you plan on doing anything pvp related now in dark souls
Here is a guide to it.

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=494370473

I cannot thank decadence [The Author] enough for his amazing guide.

Now to getting summoned in Sanctum.

Elana, Squalid Queen SM 2-5 Million
Bonfire:Sanctum Interior, Dragons Rest
For best summoning chance place near her fog wall.

This boss is super easy but RNG can make a 10 minute fight a 30 minute fight.

You want the AOE,MELEE,AOE,VELSTADT,FLAME SWATH,AOE,VELSTADT. RNG

You dont want the AOE,MELEE,AOE,SKELETONS,FLAME SWATH,AFFINITY,SKELETONS,AFFINITY. RNG

If you get the second string of attacks you need the red eye ring so the skeletons don't gank the host while they get blasted with affinity too.

Yern can help keep the skeletons away from the host

Velstadt summon is very easy let the host pick the target they are more comfortable fighting and take on the one left open making this boss a easy kill.

Sinh, the Slumbering Dragon Sm 2-5 Million
Bonfire: Sanctum Nadir,Dragons Rest

This Boss Sucks.
It is not a hard boss to fight it is a annoying boss to fight.
All This boss likes to do is fly in the air shooting toxic gas and flame at you

To any host reading this
Fighting this boss without any summons significantly increases the damage dealt to it.

If you do get summoned just wait for him to land attack a bunch and repeat.
Try to use a Lightning Greatbow to shoot him while he is in the sky.

This is another boss that can break your items if you are not careful to watch you durability bar.

I've never fought the Afflicted Graverobber, Ancient Soldier Varg, and Cerah the Old Explorer
So i will add them when i do right now i cant comment on them.
Being Summoned In NG+ and Beyond.
This Section of the guide is for players who want to be summoned at Higher soul memories or NG levels.

In New Game Plus you will have a lower chance of being summoned for Coop.
Factors that contribute to you being summoned are as follows

1. Having a reasonably low Soul Memory. Higher tiered players will not need to summon for bosses as phantoms just make the bosses harder and more time consuming.

2. Knowing what areas are high traffic for summons. You wont be summoned for bosses like the Executioner's Chariot. Don't even try.

3. Reading the Bonfire Map. The travel map will tell you where you need to be.

First understanding where to place your characters Soul Memory to be summoned.

At 15 Million Soul Memory a host will see any small sign up to 999999999 and 360000000 for big signs. This is pretty much endgame or mules. their will be no pvp builds that are focused 40 for every stat. You dont want to be here.

The new game plus rules i follow are
3-5 million NG+ [Summons about the same as NG]
4-7 million NG++[More invasions then summons]
6-9 million NG+++[There is no turning back now]
7-11 million NG++++[Did i just back stab that guy 5 times?]
11-15 million NG+++++[Am i Soft-banned i see nobody]
15-999 million NG++++++[Was that a tumbleweed in the server room? Time to start over i guess]

Most players who will summon are in the first NG+ cycle as it changes the whole game adding red phantoms and may other new game play options. A trick for Ng+ is to sit right around 5 million Soul memory. You will cover most player ranges in both NG+ and NG++.

Pick bosses to be summoned at that have high traffic and sit there. you cant just hop all over the map anymore. These are the best spots ive seen.

Bonfire: Kings Gate, The Castle
Bonfire: Threshold Bridge, Iron Keep
Bonfire: Cardinal Tower, FOTFG

Knowing Where To Go.

The last thing you can do to be summoned is,
Look For The Orange Outline In The Travel Map

Areas highlighted like this will have the highest amount of player activity in your soul memory giving you the best chance of getting spotted.
Parting Word
Well I hope at least one person found this guide useful as it took quite a while to write and get the images.

I may in time add a NG+ section to explain getting summoned at higher soul memories.

If the guide help get you summoned or summon phantoms feel free to hit the Rate Up Button
Just so the guide will also be seen by other players that may need help or are willing to help.

If you have any suggestions for additional content or have your own experiences please fill free to leave them in the comments i'd appreciate the community's own input on the subject of getting summoned.

I would also like to thank the people who helped me create this guide.
Havel (ZABGUY),decadence,ThePlayer, All People Who Summoned Me For This Info.

This guide would not have been possible without them and the dark souls 2 community.

After trying a bit around to see what would work, I'd say that guide is pretty accurate.
My experience has been that people mostly need summons for the DLC bosses as they're tougher. Sunken City is a pretty good spot for being summoned as the bonfires are very close to the bosses, and with several people, hosts won't die too much hopefully(unlike Iron King DLC bosses which wreck people).

The trio of adventurers is my favorite boss since it becomes a tag team pvp match against bots, so basically a joke. Hosts just need to be wary of the havel enemy as he can hit hard.

I might be a little late to the party, but I seee theres still 1,800-2,300 people on average playing this still. does this guide still work for trying to find CO-OP?
