Introduction
UPDATE NOTICE: This guide is currently missing all skins from the Blood in the Pacific event and is slowly undergoing a massive revamp. ALL RAGNAROK AND OPERATION SEAFOG SKINS HAVE BEEN ADDED

Welcome to the ULTIMATE SKIN GUIDE for Depth (flashy title, I know). In this guide you will find every skin and skin-related item documented and listed for easy viewing by Tier. There is also a full event history and FAQ/Appendix at the end of the guide. This guide is very simple to use but if you're having any trouble than please refer to the following "How to use this Guide" chapter.

I guess you could also consider this the "Depth Lore Bible" because of all the item descriptions contained within, which is pretty cool too.

FAQ
Q) How do I obtain skins?
A) There are many ways to obtain skins in depth, as follows:
- From random drops at the end of matchmade games of Depth (or private games with 2+ players)
- Opening Treasures that you can either earn in-game via completing quests or event goals, or by
buying them from the Depth Item Store.
- Achieving a certain amount of score during an event
- Purchasing them from the Depth Community Marketplace.
- Trading with other players, you can make a post in the Depth trading sub-forum or reply to
someone's already existing post there.
- Buying DLC skins either from the Depth Store Page or Depth Item Store
- Crafting 6 skins of the same tier into a single skin of the next tier up via the crafting menu

Q) Are the quality/tier of drops in-game affected by player skill/level?
A) Despite some belief that player level plays a part in the quality or tier of random drops in the game, they are in-fact truly random and RNG based, a level 1 newbie has as much chance as getting (for example) a Hadal skin drop as a level 100 veteran. It can sometimes look like there is a level bias in drop quality but that's just due to the quantity of players, there are a lot more low level newbies in this game than high level veterans at any time.

Q) How can I get the Battle-Scarred Tiger skin? / Why doesn't it show up in my Steam Inventory?
A) This skin can be obtained from completing the in-game tutorial, its pretty short and you get the skin automatically upon its completion, however it won't appear in your steam inventory as of now, this is likely just an oversight.

Q) How can I get the Hadal Battle-Scarred Great White and Hadal Digital Ice Spear Gun?
A) You cant. These skins were only available as a one-time pre-order bonus before the game's launch and are no longer obtainable by any means - however you can buy a Tidal tier version of the Battle-Scarred Great White from the Depth Item Store that is identical to the original.

Q) I want to craft a certain Hadal skin, but the in-game text says it will craft a specific one?
A) The Hadal crafting in game operates on a rotation, so some craftable-only Hadal skins are not always obtainable, unless purchased from the Community Market.

Q) How do I level up my Event Coins?
A) Event Coins can be levelled-up by achieving certain score milestones in the duration of the corresponding event. Once the event has ended it is impossible to level-up its event coin.

Q) Can I buy/sell skins earned during an event on the Depth Marketplace?
A) Generally a week after the event has ended all skins are available to be sold or bought by players on the community market, however it is worth noting that there is a good chance these items never be obtainable in-game again, so are now in limited supply, unlike items such as RNG drop skins and Quest Treasures.

Q) Will event rewards return in future events?
A) Generally no, with few exceptions. Some skins return with slight variations or a different rarity tier or are re-introduced later on, but usually, the answer is no.

Q) Why can't I buy the three Community Treasures anymore?
When lootbox regulation became a hot topic in the last few years the developers decided to remove the ability to purchase treasures in-game, only having them from random drops or event progress from then on - never as single purchases. An unfortunate casualty of this decision is that the Community Treasures 1, 2 and 3 are no longer available to purchase, however you can buy and sell the skins from these treasures on the community market.

Q) What are Author Skins?
You may have seen special versions of some community-made skins in player's inventories, or on the death screen after being killed in-game, these are known as "Author Skins" and have a special coloured particle effect behind the inventory item render, but are identical in-game to the standard skins. These are only given to the community creators of their skins - for example KrokZombie has the author skin version of the Stardust Mako, because he made it.

@Steel Bear
That's from the old version of the images, now it says how to get the skin (i.e. from crafting) in the smaller blue text under the description

Under another discussion you said craftable skins have a craftin icon on them. Where is it?

@Ayyds
It was pretty cool, I wish they'd re-worked it to match the sharks actual skeletal structure so it could be included

Hey, thanks for your comment, I'll do my best to answer your questions
1 - The only skins that drop just by themselves at the end of a match are the Hadal Skins (Zippy, Zappy, Randall and Flux), whereas the other skins drop from treasures that drop at the end of a match. I need to correct the wording on some of those skins to be more clear :) Before Treasures were introduced you used to just get skin drops at the end of a match, but not anymore
2 - Drop chance is the same for all players, regardless of whether they play shark or diver
Sorry for any confusion!

or are there hidden treasure chests or something on the maps that you can find ?

hi, first full cool that you have given the effort to write such a detailed guide.
I have read in some shark skins that you get them dropped after the end of a round, do you mean just like that without opening a treasure or something?
I ask because I play the game for more than 1500 rounds about 1300 as a diver and 200 as a shark, and I've never gotten a skin just like that, I've seen it before with others but always thought that this is a bug or they got it through the 6 hadal ball.
is the drop chance the same for both players or is the drop chance only for shark players?
