Aperture science's history logs have been hacked into to reveal a deleted scene from Portal 2. Just before the attempted escape of Chell and Wheatley GLaDOS decides to take a break and go on vacation . She left a stockpile of tests for Chell to complete and pre-recorded messages to make it look like she's still there.

Just before completing a test chamber a panel comes loose on a test chamber and reveals an elevator to a test chamber in Aperture that was disused. This is the playground.
