Diverse Dragons Collection 2.0

解説
This mod is outdated and no longer supported! Use Diverse Dragons Collection 3: link[www.nexusmods.com]

It is also on Special Edition! link[www.nexusmods.com]

This version requires SkyUI but does NOT require the DLCs.

If this mod doesn't work for you: (1) Make sure you installed and updated SkyUI correctly & it's working. (2) Uninstall and reinstall my mod (make sure all files are deleted after uninstalling). (3) Load a save from before you ever installed my mod. (4) Wait for the scripts to finish running, then check the MCM menu.
If the MCM options never becomes available ("DDC is busy...") then your game is overloaded with scripts.

Overview
==============================================
This mod strives to create a dragon mod like no other seen before, drawing resources from 11 different mod authors and utilizing MCM scripts to create unmatched flexibility. Features:
  • 23 dragons with unique models & textures
  • 7 level ranks for each dragon, allowing players to encounter them at any level
  • 15 new breath attacks & 12 new abilities for dragons
  • Integrated into leveled lists so the new dragons appear in random dragon attacks, quests, etc.
  • MCM menu that allows every feature to be customized (including disabling any dragons that you don't like)
  • Automatic Compatibility with every dragon mod (see compatibility section for details)

Requirements & Installation
==============================================
Alternate versions, including the SkyUI-free version, are hosted on Nexus[www.nexusmods.com].
The version found here is the NoDLC version with SkyUI and without any optional plugins.
If you don't have SkyUI it will crash.

Steam installation: Just subscribe, and once Steam has downloaded the file, go to your Skyrim Launcher -> Data Files and enable this mod. Load order doesn't matter for main file.

You should install the hotfix file from Nexus as well. Download the zip and extract the files into your Data directory, allowing it to overwrite the old files.

As always, keep a backup save from before installing any mod. If you have any issues, uninstall the mod and revert to your old save.

Optional files (hosted on Nexus[www.nexusmods.com]):
  • Force DDC Only (ogDDC2_ForceNoPluginDragons.esp): This removes all non-DDC2 dragons from the leveled lists so that you will only encounter DDC2 dragons. This file must be placed at the bottom of the load order (or at least after all mods that edit dragon leveled lists). That includes bash patches & smash patches unless you know what you're doing.
  • Force Vanilla (ogDDC2_ForceVanillaPluginDragons_usleep3-0-3.esp): This removes all non-DDC2 dragons added by other mods, but keeps vanilla dragons. The resulting leveled lists are up-to-date with USLEEP v3.0.3 (but USLEEP is NOT required). This file must be placed at the bottom of the load order (or at least after all mods that edit dragon leveled lists). DO NOT CLEAN THIS FILE -- IT INTENTIONALLY CONTAINS "IDENTICAL TO MASTER" ENTRIES. You can use bash/smash patch to change the purpose of this file -- after patching, it will add vanilla dragons back into the leveled lists if they were deleted by another mod, but won't remove the other mod's entries.

Compatibility
==============================================
In theory, this mod is compatible with everything. The plugin does not edit any vanilla entries, so it can't conflict in the normal sense. Because the leveled list entries are added through scripts, it will automatically fuse with other dragon mods without a patch.

There are a few caveats though:
  • Encounter levels may change for dragons introduced by other mods. Due to the way leveled lists work, if the dragons from this mod and another mod are added to the same list but at non-matching levels, the will conflict with each other. To resolve this, any non-matching encounter levels will be adjusted.
  • Dragon combat changes, such as those introduced by DD and DCO, may or may not apply to my dragons. Some changes might apply, some changes might not. The combat changes will definitely still apply to vanilla dragons though, so the mods are compatible with each other.
  • Script-added dragons would conflict with this mod. However, I don't know of any other mod that adds dragons through scripts other than mine.
  • Script-bloated playthroughs are going to be buggy in general. Since this mod relies on scripts, if you have a playthrough that's already experiencing bugs related to script bloating (and especially unsafe scripts), this might prevent my mod from functioning.

FAQs
==============================================
  • Is this compatible with x? Please see compatibility section.
  • I don't like x dragon, can you get remove it? You can already! Check out the MCM menu.
  • Where is the MCM menu? "Mod configuration," below Save & Load.
  • Can I ride the dragons? I've tested Bend Will on some of the dragons and it worked. Hopefully they all do.
  • I killed a dragon and it didn't give me a soul. MCM-spawned dragons will never give a soul. Console-spawned dragons will only give soul if you choose the right version of the dragon. Actual dragon encounters will give you a soul. If it doesn't, there could be a variety of problems, none of which is related to my mod (which doesn't edit the soul absorption mechanic in any way). Examples: script lag or this.[www.gamefaqs.com]
  • Are there any bugs? No major bugs are known. There is one minor graphical bug: some of the dragon meshes do not animate correctly when their soul is absorbed, but this does not effect gameplay at all. If you find any other bugs (and they're actually caused by my mod), please report them so that they can be fixed.
  • Should I uninstall DDC1 before installing DDC2? It's up to you. DDC2 will treat DDC1 as just a regular dragon mod, so you would get the new dragons in addition to the old dragons. Most of the old dragons are in the new one, but many of them have new textures and abilities. So if you don't mind a bit of redundancy, you can keep DDC1 installed, but you can also remove it to reduce your load order, or swap it out for another dragon mod. (Just keep in mind Skyrim's general uninstalling rules. DDC is pretty safe for uninstallation, but it's always safer to revert to an old save or start a new one.)
  • Do you have permission to use <some mod author>'s assets? Yes.
  • Can I use your assets? See Nexus.
There are more FAQs over on Nexus. Steam won't let me write more text.

I adore the variation / quality this mod introduces. Highly recommend.

Probably this has already been asked and answered, but I can't find it.
Even though the mod is no longer supported, does it still work? I have it installed and have the mod dragons menu in the game, but it's missing the names of the dragons and some other things. Besides that, I haven't yet seen any of the new dragons. But I'm still low level so maybe it's because of that.
I would be thankful if someone could confirm if the mod still works. If it doesn't then I'd just unsubscribe and move on.
Thanks!

Much the same. I'm sick of seeing blood dragons, but not sick enough to corrupt my game again for a stupid spear mod.

Yeah I'd rather use this version for now. Last time I tried modding with Nexus half of the mods didn't work despite using the tool that auto-sorts your load order, and I can NOT be bothered dealing with that load order bullshit.

I definitely get that, I know I liked steam workshop better when I was new to modding. But you don't actually need a mod manager or anything to use nexus -- just download the files manually and unzip them in your Data folder, then it's pretty much the same as getting them off steam. They won't automatically update, but if you have a stable load order then auto update is likely to break it anyway, so most people don't like that.

I didn't outdate it and then put it on nexus. Uploading tons of versions to tons of websites takes more time than making mods. So if I'm going to keep making mods I'm only going to host them on one website, and it's not going to be steam, since that's very inconvenient for mod authors. I don't upload to Bethesda's website anymore either, except for the XBOX1 versions since I can't host that anywhere else.
