Xbox One Wireless Controller Compatibility Guide

Mostly just for myself, to remember this method of getting the game to work natively with the Xbox One Wireless Controller.

The Changes Required
Navigate to the game's local files > Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\Config\PCKellerJoysticks.ini
Open the ini file pointed out above
Change Joystick 0 to reflect the following:
[Joystick0]
ProductName=XINPUT compatible HID device
VendorID=1118
ProductID=767
UseXInput=true

To clarify, change the ProductName, VendorID and ProductID.
Then add a new line between the ProductID and the bindings that follow.
The new line should be the UseXInput=true
It should look like this:

[Joystick0]
ProductName=XINPUT compatible HID device
VendorID=1118
ProductID=767
UseXInput=true
Joy1=XboxTypeS_A
Joy2=XboxTypeS_B
...and so forth...

This was specifically on Windows 10, but should work with Windows 7 and 8/8.1 since MSFT eased their grip on the driver availability.

Yeah, you just need to update it with new "Hardware IDs" I'm not sure what they are now and stopped playing this one. Good luck.

Hello. ^_^
Great game guide.
Thanks to the guidance, I play games, the XBOX ONE gamepad is recognized well, and I think it will be fun to play.
Thanks for the good info.
-------------------------------------------
I read the game guide and applied the gamepad.
Became friends with the gamepad.

Im using an xbox one controller for windows 10, settings won't work for me, any ideas?

If you still have issues and your on a 64bit system I suggest this because the PIDS may be slightly different from the 32bit program.

Hold the windows key and press r
type in dxdiag
It will ask you to update all the devices or whatever say yes.
go to the input tab and find your controller.
ignore the 0_ in front.

If you have issues with the IDs you used, get the ones for the "USB Input Device" and/or "XINPUT compatible HID Device" that are attached to the controller.

You can do this by:

1. Openning the Control Panel
2. Searching for Devices & Printers
3. Double clicking on the device
4. Click on the Hardware tab
5. Select either "USB Input Device" or "XINPUT compatible HID Device"
6. Then click on Properties
7. Go to the Details tab
8. Open the drop down menu and select Hardawre IDs (should be one of the first ones on the list)

The hexadecimal IDs will be listed after "VID_" (Vendor ID) and "PID_" (Product ID); such as:

HID\VID_ 045E &PID_ 02FF &IG_00
