Welcome!
Bored of seeing those strange announcements containing the word ''raffle''?
Wish to know what this word means?
You're at the right place!!

In this guide I'll explain you what raffles are, how they work and how to join them; with the usage of screenshots and useful links! Stay with me, and I'll teach you how this revolutionary ''trading'' works!

DISCLAIMER:
I do NOT promote the spread of the raffler's spot. I only did this guide for informative purposes, and not more. Being a raffler needs experience and devotion, you can't turn into one from a day to another. With that explained, keep scrolling the guide.
What does ''Raffling'' mean?
Well, a ''Raffle'' is a lottery, essentially. A lottery is a paid service in which you buy tickets to have a chance of winning something. For further informations regarding how it works, scroll down.
Full Explaination of a Raffle
Alright, now I'm going to explain you how a raffle works. I'll make an example, so it's much easier to understand.

So! I'm a raffler, and I want to raffle a Mann Co. Key.

As we can see from http://backpack.tf , a Mann Co. Key is worth 20 Refined Metals.

Since I would like to make a bit of profit out of the raffle (because no one works for free ;P), I decide that I want to make 21 refs out of it.

Setting the Number of Slots

The next step is setting a number of slots that I want my raffle to have. We said I'd like to make 21 refs out of it, right? Then a solution would be setting 21 slots with 1 refined metal fee each. Some rafflers, me included, usually set a scrap entry, so they multiply the number of slots x9, but your winning chances won't change. You can also enter with items, and I suggest you to add the Raffler to establish the slots you'd get if you plan to do so.

Hosting the Raffle

After the Raffler establishes the slots and the fee for each, everything is ready. All the Raffler has to do is hosting the raffle, To do so, the Raffler uses an announcement to let the members of the group know about his raffle.

The Raffle Format / Layout

The format (or layout) of a raffle is essentially how it looks like. A suggestion from an experienced Raffler? A well-formatted announcement attracts members. I'll show you the standard one I made and I currently use:

Waiting for People to Join

Now that the Raffle is successfully hosted, all the Raffler has to do is to accept the trade offers he/she receives. Taking as example the Raffle I ''started'' before (The Mann Co. Key), to buy slot/s I have to send a trade offer to the Raffler containing MY ITEMS ONLY and, most of the times, adding a word in the trade offer description. In my Killer Solo Raffle, the one I used to show you my format, the word was ''Killer''. Don't forget that word, or your trade offer will be counted as donation.

Choosing A Winner

Once all the slots of the Raffle are bought, the Raffler has to choose a winner. 99% of the Rafflers around use https://www.random.org , a certificated SAFE randomizer that chooses a random number between a maximum and a minimum.

Always considering the Key Raffle:

As you can see, I've put 1 as the minimum number, and 21 as the maximum number. Now, pressing on ''Generate'', the site will generate a random number from 1 to 21.

Therefore...

As you can see, the winning number is #9. This means that whoever bought the slot #9, and was assigned to it, is the official winner of the Raffle. The winner is announced with an announcement too, mandatorily. If you missed it, just search it from the group's announcements.

Getting Your Prize

Well, if you won... congratulations! All you have to do now is to get your prize! Personally I add the winner directly, but some Rafflers want YOU to add him/her! So stay tuned on a raffle!
Considering my personal case, if you won my key raffle, I'll add you, congratulate with you and trade you the prize. Our example was this Mann Co. Key, so I would add you and simply give you the key.
Errors to AVOID when sending your trade offer. [READ]
Alright guys, now I'll show you a tipical example of super-common error that many do.

Here's it:

This is a SCAM offer. To enter the raffle, you must NOT add the prize in the trade offer, or anything else that belongs to the raffler. You have to send YOUR ITEMS ONLY, also including the word we've talked about before.

This is how a trade offer has to be sent:

We're Done!
Here we go! Now you know how Raffling works for both points of view, the Raffler and the Participant.

I would like to add that I made this Raffling Guide alone, and between all the formatting I've put, you can imagine how hard I worked on it. I hope you understand my efforts and don't judge the negative sides only of this guide.

With that said, I also add that if you want to feature this guide in your own Raffling Group / Raffles YOU HAVE TO ASK ME DIRECTLY FIRST, AND CREDIT ME ONLY FOR MAKING IT. I do NOT ask for a payment, if that's your concern. I claim ALL the credits for anything present in this guide.

With that said... GOOD LUCK JOINING RAFFLES! <3
