Wallet Scammers
What is Wallet Scamming?

Wallet scamming is a variation of scam where the scammer offers Steam Wallet Codes (codes that you redeem to get Steam Wallet money) for the victim's items. Often these scammers will overpay, tempting you. Note that the only types of Wallet codes are $20 codes, $50 codes, and $100 codes. However, since these codes aren't tradable, he would like you to trade your items to him and then he will give you the code. This is because after you trade your items to him, he will run off with them. The sensible thing to do if you bought a Steam Wallet code is to redeem it and buy items from the Steam Marketplace. Usually, he will spew out some sort of excuse (e.g. "I don't want the 7-day trade restriction from buying Marketplace items" "I'm Market restricted") which should add nothing to your belief of his legitimacy. Block the scamming fool.

Here's a photo of an obvious wallet scammers info box.

99% OF WALLET TRADES ARE SCAMS! NEVER, EVER DO A WALLET TRADE!

Cash Scammers
Cash Scammers are The Most Popular Type of Scammer

They usually seem legit and can have a high level profile, tons of +reps, lots of friends, a clean steamrep, photos of paypal balance, many years on steam, donators on steamrep/lounge, high lounge rep, etc. All of these can be bought for an insanely cheap amount and therefor don't mean much because any scammer can have one. The next few sections will be going over and explaining these in more detail.
Photos of Paypal Balance
Photos of Paypal balances mean nothing. Anyone can just go and use inspect element to change the amount shown on the Paypal homescreen. Even if their Paypal balance is legit they can always charge back any transaction EVEN when it is sent as family and friends.

Here is an example of what they will usually show on their profile.

Check Groups
It is crucial to check the persons groups.

There are thousands of groups that scammers will join to exchange profile reps. What they do is join the group and "trade" rep with other users. It takes them 5 minutes and they gain around 100+ profile rep saying stuff like "+rep sold my knife" and "+rep he sent me paypal for my items".

Here is a photo of what you might see when going through someones groups

Rep Comments on Profile
+Rep, or Reputation, is a system of trust where once a satisfactory trade has been made, one of the participants in the trade will go to the other's profile and comment "+rep _______." For example:
However, anyone can make these comments, whether they have traded with them or not. As stated in the section "Check Groups," scammers will join +rep groups to gain no-effort +rep without trading with anybody.
Check Inventory
Most scammers don't invest money into skins or items so they usually don't have anything valuable in their inventory. A lot of them will stock up on a ton of cases or other 4 cent items so it looks like they have a lot of items to look legit. Here's an example, this specific scammer only has about 3 pages of cases and that's it.

Almost No Real Trader is Ever "Restocking"
Scammers usually cover up their small inventory with the excuse that they're restocking. Restocking is a meaningless term in cash trading because cash traders aren't a store. Legit cash traders will be trading stuff around 24/7 and AT LEAST have a few decently-priced skins.

You will usually see the restocking excuse in the scammers "copy pasta" why you should trust me box.
Look For the "Scammer Copy Pasta"
Almost all cash traders have info on themselves, like me for example.

Hasoon, one of the biggest and most reputable traders has one himself. Notice how his has reputable stuff and how he put effort into his unique box.

Now here are some boxes from obvious scammers.

Notice how similar all of them are? Most scammers will just copy and paste that info because they don't have an actual trust-worthy information to put there.

Photos of Random High Tier Items On Profile
High level scammers LOVE putting photos of high tier items on their profile to attract victims. 99% of scammers i've looked at for this guide with a steam level 40+ will have these random screenshots of high tier items with out any information on them.

Here is an example

Remember, anyone can take screenshots of any items (even if they don't own them) and upload them to their profile.
SteamRep
SteamRep is a website used for tracking players' statuses of "scammer" to "safe." If you go onto their website (link unavaliable, unfortunately) and paste someone's Steam URL (this is the ending part of the link for their profile, like "AdinD", my URL) into the search, their profile will appear with their status. This;will show if the person has been reported multiple times and has been confirmed as a scammer. If you have been scammed or someone attempted to scam you, you can also report them to change their status to a scammer.
Lounge Rep & Donator Status Can Be Farmed
Just like profile rep, CSGO lounge rep can be traded and bought for very cheap. Most scammers on lounge will pay around 5 keys in exchange for someone with hundreds of accounts to make their rep over 70. Don't use donator status or rep on lounge as a meaning of trust.
Fake Wear Values on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is a website used for finding people who want your item quick and easy. Everything has its flaws, though; Lounge sometimes displays the wrong wear for the skin. This person appears to have a Factory New M4A4 | Tornado.
Yet when we check their inventory, it's Minimal Wear! What a rip-off!
Streamrep Rep Checker Extention
I don't own this extension but i've been using it and it helps a lot. It will give you tons of information on any persons profile you visit and automatically checks their steam-rep.

Years on Steam Mean Nothing
Although buying and selling steam accounts is illegal, people still do it and use it as a way to scam people. Scammers will buy a 12 year old steam account for $5-15 dollars and use the years on steam as a reason to trust them.

Who Can You Trust? CSGORep aka Cashrep
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/groups/CSGOREPorts
Make sure it's the real group by checking the URL and the members.

The only real way to trust someone is based off of their Cashrep. Cashrep is very hard to farm unlike other forms of rep and moderators can lock anyone's rep and request proof of the cash trades. Here is an example of my cashrep.

As you can see, other users commented about cash trades done with me and we both gained rep. If anyone suspected those comments to be illegitimate they could report them to a moderator and that moderator would investigate the claims.

Here is an example of a scammer who recently got his rep page locked.

NEVER do cash trades with anyone either not in this group or banned from this group because the odds are they're a scammer. If they're not in the group make sure to inform them about it (if they're a legit trader they will join).

Make sure to check that you're dealing with the real person and not an impersonator linking their cashrep. You can learn more about impersonators here.
