Matchmaking in rocket league is based around your skill group and your MMR Rating. So for example if you are playing a 1,000 MMR player and you have 500 MMR Rating and you beat him, your MMR rating will gain a lot of points rather than a 600 MMR Player, but if you lose to a 200 MMR player, then you could lose a lot of MMR and a possible Division down.

Basically, score doesn't mean anything. You can have less than 100 score and if you win you can division up. This game is strictly win/Lose. I see that this is a fault in the game. You should have to contribute to your teams success in order to division up to prove that you deserve a higher Placement.

This is a must for any 2v2 or 3v3 playstyle. I have seen this Picture back in July and have stuck with this through my whole career of rocket league. Yes, you have to stop caring about your rank because when you are down in points you get worried and play more carefully and not the same way you will in Unranked which leads to Consistency issues. Your Rank is just a Rank, it does not define you as a player. It is a Generalization of your MMR Rating, not you as a person or a player.

The 90% of ranked players of your skill level deserve to be there, so treat them with respect and the credibility they deserve just like you, if they are really getting salty and mean, just go to options and disable Text chat and Voice of Enemy team, I did this because I didn't want to be tilted of what they said so I blocked it.
If the team beats you in a 50/50 don't get salty and mad, just move on and keep playing, and after the game think about what you could have done better and apply it to the next games. If they score on you, don't get mad and think about what you could have done better to prevent that from happening, move on and think about what you could have done differently is crucial for improvement.

Rocket League is a mind game over anything. If you are feeling bad, you are going to play badly, use these tips and advice to your advice and you will almost guarenteed to rank up, I am currently working on the advice and tips myself to get progress to Grand Champion.
