Start by placing a switch on a cell. Right click on the cell and select the switch pannel at the bottom.

Then check the box to place a switch on this cell. The switch's ID will appear on the right. Keep it in mind, this ID will be used on the cell you want to act on. Now close this pannel.

Your switch is placed ! Now you have to choose a cell where you want to create an event linked to your switch. Right click on the cell you want and open the switch pannel on it. Don't check the box this time !

Look at the 2nd section of the pannel. Write your switch's ID and select the action you want. Remember that some type of actions need a specific element on the cell in order to work properly (unveil monster group for example will reveal the group you put on this cell). Here I choose to unveil a secret room (it basically hide the cell and reveal it when you activate the switch).

Finally close the pannel and look at the cell : it should be a little transparent.
