The Basics
Crafting Stations

Things that work for early game potion crafting :
  • - Crafted using 1 glass block at a furnace, creates 2 bottles for 1 glass.
  • - Crafted using 4 clay blocks at a furnace.
  • - Crafted using 1 glass block at a furnace.
  • - Crafted using 2 dynasty wood at a crafting table
  • - Crafted using 1 honey block at a honey dispenser.
  • - Crafted using 1 glass block at a furnace.

Everything mentioned above can be placed on a flat furniture item (table, crafting table, platforms etc) to work for potion brewing.

Herbs

These are the main ingredients for potions :
  • - Daybloom - Grows on grass above the underground layer. Grows durning the day. The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a grass block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).
  • - Blinkroot - Can grow everywhere on dirt or mud. Doesn't need any special conditions. The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a dirt block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).
  • - Moonglow - Grows on jungle glass either at the surface or underground. Grows durning the night. The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a jungle grass block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).
  • - Waterleaf - Grows on sand blocks. Grows durning rain. The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a sand block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).
  • - Shiverhorn - Grows on snow and ice blocks. Doesn't need any special conditions. Remains in-bloom stage forever. The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a snow/ice block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).
  • - Deathweed - Grows on corrupt grass and ebonstone blocks (in a corruption world). Grows on crimson grass and crimstone blocks (in a crimson world). Grows durning a blood moon or a full moon night. The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a crimson/corruption grass block or crimstone/ebonstone block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).
  • - Fireblossom - Grows in hell, on ash blocks. Grows durning a time when sun is setting, from 3:45 PM to 7:30 PM (unless it's raining). The seeds can be placed in either a plant box or a pot, or a ash block (I wouldn't recommend the last one).

Special Alchemy Station
What's an Alchemy Station?

Well, it's basicly an upgraded bottle/vase/mug etc.
It has a 33% chance to not consume 1 of the ingriedients (it might make it so the potion is made from litterly nothing !)
How do you get it you ask? Well, first you need to kill skeletron then go venture out into the dungeon, there you will find this beauty.
Fishies

Fishes are used in many potions and they are good for getting money too ! (zoom in for closer look)

@coiledagent the guide says 'Planter boxes are a type of pot, once the seed is placed inside the correct planter box it doesn't need any conditions to grow', so they do grow in any box, but still need conditions, e.g. for waterleaf, it needs to rain unless its in its own box. Unless im misinterpreting it.

Actually, herbs do not need to be placed in the corresponding planter box to grow. All planter boxes are functionally the same, meaning you could grow all 7 herbs on daybloom planter boxes if you wanted to.

Yes, telling what types of fishes you get from certin biomes and wether or not you need a special fishing pole would be a nice addition. Other than that, this is a great guide so far!
