Big block of tips
Im bad at intros, lets get into it

1. A good trapper knows to bait his traps. Compassion is the best bait. While you may get a guy glued to his jenny, most of the time a couple of people will at least wait in the proximity of a hooked/downed player. Find a hiding spot near your bait, when there friends rush to the rescue, restock your hook. Limited use

2. As soon as the game starts, get moving. Often the survivors will spawn far away from you, start moving as soon as possible and hit as many generators as possible in these early mins. Any sign of life is to be considered fresh and should be mentally bookmarked.

3. Find a cluster of jennys, patrol for signs of life. Most of the time the majority of generators will be nearby each-other, patrol these for life signs, after 3 or so passes, go check on the ones outside of your rounds.

4. Double back, walk in circles. When a survivor sees you pass, they generally think its safe to go back to what they where doing, turn around and show them the errors of there ways. Walk in circular/serpentine motions so you can catch anyone who thinks they can hide from you.

5. Beartraps. There are 2 good strategies with these that i have found. 1 is to hide them in tall grass near generators, the upside is these are likely to catch unwary prey. The downside is many people are wary. The other good idea is to use them as makeshift walls, blocking off jumps, choke points, and every little cranny that can be uses to escape you in a chase. Your a sheepdog, drive them grinning into the snapping jaws of your waiting hook. The problem with this is they are often disarmed, requiring constant upkeep. This could allow an eagle eyed hunter to spot areas with survivors around.

6. Dont be afraid to let them squirm. Sometimes you are not able to get them to a hook, either if all your hooks have been sabotaged by annoying prey, or just dumb luck. The upside is that a downed enemy is more often gone after then a hooked target, as they are seen as overlooked by the killer. Also, it takes longer to get someone off the ground then off a hook.

7. Stay on target. Often the game will screw you by spawning all your targets in a group, smart group play will be trying to distract you from your primary target. 2-3 guys hit= Healed after the fight. A man down/hooked is a lot harder to recover from and poses a more serious threat. Dont let them distract you, but dont be afraid to knock down a guy who confidently overextended.

8. Dont break blue boxes. A blue box uprite will get you smacked on the head and they often get away, one still down will let them slide, if you are close enough you can catch them, similar to windows.

9. Dont go straight for a kill in a chase, try to hang back a few until you are sure you can get your hit. If you step back you will see your target will often telegraph there move, weather jumping through a window you can hook around, or just a tree or brick building pieces they where planning on hooking around, show up on the other side and give em a big hug.

And more to come soon (hopefully)

Trapper literally has a perk that increases pallet, or in this case "blue box" breaking speed 4head talking about "dont break blue boxes you'll get hit". This guide for anyone higher than rank 15 is honestly just a brick
