Start:
This guide is meant to show how to begin use the programs in this suite from scratch without any prior knowledge of the CLPD14US.
To:
My ultimate goal with this guide is to be using this suite as the only tools while building up a brand new Youtube channel .

The (first time) installation phase
So I have just gotten the CLPD 14 US and I am now downloading and installing it. (the CyberLink PowerDirector 14).

After about 7 or 8 minutes the download was completed and a further first time installation "box" took around 2 minutes before the program starts up without any problems.

After a quick easy register here online for some extra features (amongst a cloudsaving feature; as I will be using/jumping between a few diffrent computers/laptops during the creation of this guide;

(Specs for each computer; insert here)
........................
Here I realised I should take the time to download the other 2 programs as well that is part of the suite. (the CL AudioDirector 6 & CL ColourDirector 4)
..........................
Later note: to save time later on:
I realised this in a later stage:
(Make sure to just start and register these 2 programs (CL AD6&CD4) atleast once after download (and close them))(otherwise I couldnt find and use them from within the CL PowerDirector)
......................
First time using the CL PowerDirector.
After been given 5 options (ranging basicly from advanced user to new) as the program started up I picked the easy looking one.

So easy mode it is.
Following the instructions in the "Magic Movie Wizard"; I search the correct folders where everything is located I want to work with.

(Realising I dont have all that, on the main computer I am using at the moment; I take the time to transfer (using an USB stick) the sound/music files I want to use)

Using the suprisingly easy and quick to learn user interface I add 1 58min long gameplayvideo I made a week or so ago about Rocket League; and 6 diffrent free to use without copyright on Youtube classical scores.

Being given the choice (a single slider) of what the volumes on the video/music clips should be.

I pick a slightly higher level on the gameplay over the music.

and I press next to go to the preview stage (4th stage out of 5).

The program then gets to work and starts analysing my choices (files)

While I am waiting for the preview to complete I take the time to go into Windows 10´s "Task manager" to see how much resources CL PD14 is using while working; turns out it is using a steady 4.8-6.4 % of the CPU and around 540 MB RAM.

So after the preview rendering is complete I press the preview option and....

WOW!!!

Just WOW!!!

Ohh My Stars! the possibilites that is racing thru my head as I watch the result....

I decide to not touch anything (althou I can clearly see things I want to touch to add my own personal touch to it; but Ill do that later on as this is my first test drive of the program) and I press OK on the options presented to me and the computer gets to work once again this time supposedly creating an end result. ( a video)

I am not fully comprehending what is going on at this stage; but I trust the program to do its thing and I decide to wait for it. ( I know i have added an entire folder of video dabblings to the process and that this might have done something odd)

Ahh alright there was 1 more step before creating the video; but now it is being produced.

Insert the video link here when uploaded: (of my first dabbling with this program)

Finally while uploading the video to Youtube I begin rounding off the first trial run of the suite with saving the project.
Trusting the program agian; while I was not fully sure what it was doing; during the saving process while WIndows 10 insisted the program was not responding; I choose to trust the program over Windows 10´s warning.

And I ended up being correct in trusting the program as it ended up saving the project succesfully despite Windows claiming diffrently...

..................................
Next I am gonna use nongameplay fotage that I will be recording today (with a few years old camera) as I need to head to the grocery store (now) here in town to get some stuff for tonights family dinner.
Ill also figure out how to make things 1080p on Youtube.
The second test movie; Free roaming with the advanced features.
In my second movie for the day I decide to go for the more advanced features and I begin free roaming with the "advanced" edit mode.

I quickly get that I am way over my head here with how to use the features in the free roaming "advanced" mode;

But I love exploring how things work so I continue fiddle around with the program althou I now know I need find me a tutorial of some sort to really get moving forward with the free roaming.

I decide I will start day 2 with the program to seek out a tutorial of some sort and move on from there;

But first ill try make me my 2nd movie free roaming anyway.
............................
I am having a hard time figuring out where the volume for each separate layer and clip are within the PowerDirector.
.............................
I found what I was missing =)

I just needed to go into the (right click; Edit Audio; Pick; WaveEditor)
..............................
Ill leave the original "Bad" sound in the video for the first 47sec so I and everyone else can grasp the differance.

I Used the adjustments/Equilizer option and "killed" some of some of the frequencies".

In the video below especially notice the 02:24:00-02:45:00 differance I made to the sound when being next to a heavily trafficed highway. Its an astonishing differance.
..............................
Well that was about everything I had time to do day 1.

Insert the 2nd video here when uploaded....

and I hope I have solved the 1080p issue I had with the first video with this 2nd video.
................................

Day 2 with CL PD 14 US
Today I have a friend over that I will sit down and show this Suite of programs to and Ill continue as time will allow continue to fiddle around with the "free roaming".
.............
While I have been waiting for the friend to come over; I have been exploring the categories (Green arrow) and the tab selection function (Red arrow) and the many prefab items (Yellow arrows) to see whats in there and what possible uses they can have for me.

and here is the result of this short mornings fiddleling.

::::::::::::::::
The rest of the day we hanged out and we played around with the CL PD 14 US with some copyrighted material so no, no video from this expirience:

My friend thou had no problem to understand and interact with the interface and he quickly reached my level of understanding of the CL PowerDirector.

::::::::::::::::
Afterward there was movietheater time out on the town and a visit to the local Pub for the reminder of Day 2.
Day 3; Makin A Channel Intro.
Day 3 is going to be a day where I aim to create first a shorter video (under 1min) as a welcome video to my old gameplay channel where all the "low quality stuff" from my old weak computer times recides and where I train and tweek to make perfect for my new Youtube channel later on.

After I complete the "Welcome video" ill start make some practice greenscreen videos to use while I am streaming.
I see as an example before me a "Sub to me and like this video" banner passing over the screen.

::::::::::::::::::::::
So I now work with the "welcome video" and it is the first time I know what I am doin and it is just click this, then click that, then wait a few sec for the process to progress; then click, click and my misstake with including gameplay music is gone in a part of the segment.

Only problem I got is completly my own doing; that the video I wanted to end up max 1 min long is 1:40min long...
And I decide to use some safe to use music for the clip on Youtube.

I will just render the video a few times (look it over and remove or cut down some segments) untill im satisfied.

:::::::::::::::::::::::
Took me a few renderings (for preveiws sake; where to place audio and music etc.) to get the video to a level I was satisfied with; with my current skill level; and I avoided using video transitions in this "exersice" as I will use day 4 to get used to that.

:::::::::::::::::::::
Next project I plan to do today after a few hours being with the Mrs...; will be an "simple" 3 hour long greenscreen video ill use on tonights "slow & scenic" "World of Warcraft" stream I have planned where I only get to get XP from non combat as much as possible and only going after hunting rares. (Just becuase I have done everything else already in the game in a thousand other ways...)

::::::::::::::::::::
After quickly making the 3 hour long green screen video in the CL PD14 US: I ran into trouble with the OBS streaming software not being able to show a layered video removing the "green" (with a chroma removal) hmmm,,, (didnt expect that)
Some thinking is needed here: to solve this one...

::::::::::::::::::::
OK after some thoughts I realised I had to to adapt my original plan and the result became the following.
Insert link here to the ended livestream.

And Yes the stream got started very late because the boys decided to change my plans around with 1 playing WoW on the one and only active acc and the other one wanted to play Heartstone...
Day 4: Time to learn how to make the transitions.
I set out for the day, to learn to manage transitions and those cool effects "the easy mode" Movie Magic Wizard presented me with for the Day 1 Video 1.
..
And I suspect ill start dig into the CL AudioDirector 6 in 3-4 days and CL ColourDirector 4, 2-3 days after that as I want to explaore every facet of the programs; althou I do suspect I have not even touched like 1/5 of the CLPowerDirectors 14 functions yet thou.. so the above is a very preliminary plan for the guide.

::::::::::::::::::
Crossfading is an art it seems to be mastered; like in how long a good crossfade should be,
I am currently messing around with the old channel´s new welcome video from above and inserting transition into that project and it strikes me how much softer the video feels after adding in the basic transitions.

and this is what the project looks like after having added basic transitions.

Next step is ill try to figure out how the advanced transition system works.

:::::::::::::::::
Turns out it works like this:
Pick the "Transition Room" category (F8) (red arrow) and just drag what type of transition (2nd red arrow) You want into Your project (YellowGreen arrow) and on top of the basic transions one has previously made:(bright Green arrow)
And that how hard that was once I figured out it works...

Note:
The diffrent transition types has diffrent "best" transition times one need to get a feeling for .

Here is the "Welcome video" one more time with an selection of "advanced" transions.
Day 5 with CL PD 14 US will continue tomorrow.
Its Sunday today and ill just relax today with the wife.
Ill be back tomorrow with Day 5 with CL PD 14 US.
Day 5
I begin the day with takin two 23 minute videos of Rocket league and just put them thru the Magic Movie Wizard using the action preset to see what happens just to get a better feeling what the end result becomes; I might just do it with one file too just to.
................
Hmm I need to figure out how to "master" the "blue diamonds" aka "Keyframes" in the timeline next.

So after having played around with the "keyframes" using the "power tool / crop & zoom" option I soon found myself mastering the blue diamonds.

And I discovered at the same time in the "Power tool" section how to turn my videos into slow motion or super fast mode.
::::::::::::::::::::::

Day 6; playing around with the CL ColorDirector4
Day 6 is Laundry day here but that doesnt stop me from going thru the CL PD 14 U Suite and this time I am going thru the possibilities with the ColorDirector 4 program.

After quickly getting used to the familiar layout and function of the program (which is basicly the same as in the PowerDirector 14); I fiddle thru the many diffrent color changes one can do with the program.

and

there is a similar preset system as in the PD14 just that it this time is set for picture adjustments.

There are for me really advanced options in this program and I discover things I never knew one could do.

Like one can in the video "smart mark" an object and make the program follow that object with the smart markings frame by frame;
And one can; say make that object black and while thru out a videoclip othervise in full color.

That really impressed me that I was able to do just that with just a few clicks.

Here is an crude basic video showing an example:

Day 7-9 diving deeper into the functions of CL PowerDirector 14
Day 7 began with the son ending his 4th year in school and I took the chance to tutor him quickly in the baiscs of the PowerDirector 14 and I really think he understood how easy it is to use as he quickly made an short basic 3D intro with the program.

Plans for the rest of the day is to watch some tutorial videos about the PowerDirector 14 to get into the more advanced functions I know I have not touched yet and later after that start doing a basic first draft for my first real video for the new Youtube channel to play around with testing the limits of my skills and the equipment I have set up here:

............................
Day 8 and 9 I am still filling my head with tutorials; I have entered a stage where I want to soak in more and more information about the PowerDirector 14; and I have still not more then browsed thru the other 2 programs in the suite....

Well then I have gone thru what Malik at the Youtube channel "PowerDirector University" have had to say about the CLPD 14; atleast twice.

Next ill apply the teachings in a few exercises I have in mind from this other day my son ended his 4th year.
............................
So now on the evening of day 9, I feel that I have gotten the hang of most of the CL PowerDirector 14´s functions and what they can do;

But I still lack the "confidance" of putting the new skills to the best use when making a video.

= I need some more training in the actual usage of the functions and how to apply them in the best way possible.

But I definently are taking huge leaps away from the "MS Paint feeling" of what my previous creations had for each day that goes by.

I decided to not post the "family video" in this guide thou.
...
Plans for tomorrow is to take a dive into the ColorDirector again and I suspect ill go check more Youtube tutorials about it.
:......

Day 10 and I realise there is so much here toolwise; that I could make just about anything.
Day 10 and I have been lookin thru videoes on YouTube and been tinkering around with the ColorDirector (switching colors on objects, marking and bluring faces, fix grainynees and set moods for a set and mooore)

its time for one of those Wow!!! moments again as I dive into the ColorDirector 4 and realise how indepth this CL PD 14 Ultimate Suite really is/are. And with the ease everything is done once one have the basic idea on how everything is structured.

....................
I am really not a person easily impressed but this Suite of programs have me almost stunned.
..................

I just feel; I need to learn what is learnable (without going back to the University) and just start make videos...
................
Next step at the moment for me is to get the hang of the selfmade ("create" d) hmm whats the word for it; "pre-sets" one can use over and over again in ones projects to save even more time.
Day 11
Its day 11 and I feel that I have gotten the hang on what both the CyberLinkPowerDirector 14 and CyberLinkColorDirector 4 is able to do;
So it is time to head back into the CyberLinkAudioDirector 6 and really sort out what it is capable off and hows it been done.

= Watch even more videos...

....................................

So after some videos I now understand that there are a wide array of useful possibilites in the AudioDirector 4 ranging from visably removing unwanted sounds in a clip, to tools that can change a mans voice to that of a child or a woman with just a few clicks.
......................................

With this day´s look into the AudioDirector 4, I now feel that I more or less like have grasped what the CL PD 14 US has "under its hood"

By no means am I now a proffesional editor but I have gotten to the point I feel I now have the knowlegde to start think outside the program itself and begin focusing on what can I now do with this knowledge and tools.

...................

I will leave this guide open/going for one more week before I will officially round things off here and fully start focusing on filming; recording and editing.

= give me somewhat more time to go thru some more random stuff with the CL PD 14 US and also prepare me and my equipment for future adventures.
Day 12 and its time to get serious with the new Youtube channel.
So after 12 days of taking in impressions, getting used to the interface and what the CLPD 14 US tools can do; I feel that I am ready to start work on the new YT channel and its content.

I have on purpose been taking it "slow" thruout these 2 last weeks to not break my entusiaism with overextending and exaustment.

.......................
Now I just need to be as meticulous with setting up a "profile" for me to follow when I produce my video´s.

and as the first step will involve some copyrighted materials I cant show this step here but:

I will basicly take a videofile and then meticulously disect it with the CL PD 14 into sections/scenes and then takin each section and disect them separatly and thus getting used to how one produce a "professional" product .

Then after the disection is completed I will remove the copyrighted material from the profile and be left with a "skeletal" framework where I then put in my own material section by section; video by video and audio by audio.
........................

Conclusion after two weeks with CyberLink PowerDirector 14 Ultimate Suite.
In the beginning two weeks ago I had absolutly no idea what and what not this CyberLink Suite of programs are able to do.

And:

Oh my Stars, what a wake up call these two weeks have been.

"Things" I only thought huge television and movie producing studios had access to is now in my "hands".

and:

That means my entire University education in Archaeology and Geography can be combined with the power of a personal "television studio".

That is acctully something I never thought was possible within my lifetime.

and

This means I could combine my "job" as a husband to my wife and still work from home and still be the security she needs me to be.

= I need rethink way more then just how to use this Suite of programs.

...................
So my conclusion of the CyberLink PowerDirector Ultimate Suite is:

That it is:
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::

A life changing product.
