First of all, it is important to learn a handful of basics:


I often hear this mispronounced in names such as Walter. However, it poses an even more severe problem for many when using the word "AWP".

Incorrect: AWP = A Vee Pee
Correct: AWP = A Double-U Pee

Alternatively, you -- like many native speakers -- can call it an "Awp", wich is pronounced "aww-p" (you will find a sound sample in the next section of this guide).


The letter V is pronounced like the German W, which causes confusion for many Germans who are not fluent in English. Here is how you pronounce it correctly:

"V" as in "very", "valve", "video" (etc.)

Example:
Incorrect: Walve
Correct: Valve

Als allererstes ist es wichtig, ein paar Grundlagen zu verstehen:
