In the very beginning, when Tidus wakes up just after Sin sucks him into the void. Swim along the water ruins until you see stairs, go up stairs walking to the left you will find a cyan Al Bhed primer sphere on the ground.

People have that kind of time to burn on video games? Jeez, sign me up for that
... but apparently this one can't be arsed with numbers, so it is effectively useless.
So I loaded up a previous save, found the missing primer and then made a new save.
And I went back to my current game and used the new save with the compilation sphere on the airship.
And lo and behold, i got the complete set of primers!
So yeah, the point of this post is that if you miss one and are dreading restarting your game, the compilation sphere can help you
